DM's hihat is a bit funky; it's really really sensitive, but rapid hits sometimes don't work.

This is sort of interesting, actually. I'm having the same problem with a snare I recently replaced. Can you tell if the pad was brand new? Maybe Bill can tell us if he replaced a sensor for that one?

Basically your pads work by one 2" sensor on each pad (though, apparently you can have more than one hooked up to each for more coverage). When you strike it, it registers as a hit [on] then quickly back to [off]. When you strike it many times, it strikes as lots of individual [on] hits. Problem is, when it gets too sensitive then it will register so many hits that it will appear [on] continuously without any [off's] in between to differentiate notes. This causes misses to an otherwise sensitive pad.

I think the simple solution might be to move the new sensor to a less active pad, like the green or red tom that doesn't have too many very fast rolls, and a more broken-in sensor to the hi-hat, snare and cymbal?

Any fresh feedback on the DM sensitivity at Crackme?  Het Metroid, seems like these sensors either work or do not work.  They do not seem any more sensitive when new.  Over sensitive usually points to something being too loose allowing aftershocks.

Other news: I hear a PIU Pro kit is on it's way within a couple weeks.

Other news: I think Bill's the coolest person ever.

Really looking forward to Pro, that and IDV4 have finally convinced me to start coming back to Acme instead of GW.

Hopefully that DM sensitivity thing will resolve itself, but it's not like the machine is unplayable in its current condition.

Is PIU Pro going to be just like the one that was at BigAls?  Because that was a bitchin machine.

I think it'll be an upgrade to the current pump machine, a GX cabinet I believe.  I think the new Pump cabs are FX cabinets, the ones with the leds and the widescreen displays.

I had a dead sensor in my snare so I took a band new spare snare from my DTX and the parts are essentially the same (DTX pads are about 1/2" diameter larger than OEM DM pads) but the 3pin connector is exactly the same as the arcade. On fast rolls it will simply register "on" in the op menu whereas the old OEM toms still manage to register on/off even in very quick rolls like they're supposed to. Since the snare I used to replace it was brand new, I hesitate to think it was loose or otherwise malfunctioning...? I will double check next time I'm out there.

I guess my point being that even with aftershocks, it still manages to register "ON" all the time (in quick rolls) almost like it can't keep up with the rolls and simply registers as a continuous strike- which doesn't make any sense since it's just a series of very quick hits.

it's an SX, smaller screen and only one subwoofer, compared to the GX's larger screen and dual woofers. and yeah the new machine style is the FX. 42" plasma. rumor has it andamiro is making the GX's screen smaller to reduce the cost even more.

Yeah, I read something about it being discontinued.  I need to hit up Acme and play some Pop'n sometime soon.

Metroid:  It is a compatibility issue.  We bought a sensor when desperate one day from the local Yamaha dealer.  Same crap, would not work properly.  The board must be looking for the input strength a PCY 80 model sensor is putting out I am guessing.  PM me your mailing address, and a sensor is on its way to you.

SO there were a ton of little kids there tonight. I couldn't play ITG at all since the machine was inaudible. Something to think about in the future would be moving ITG further back to where that Nascar game is right now. This would allow for slightly louder volume and also less random air hockey pucks flying into your face.

I played a bunch of Pop'n and GFDM. Bill, the DM hihat is still having that weird problem. I'm not sure if you already looked into it; it's not a big deal, but it would be nice to have it fixed. Also, the coinslots on ITG were sticking pretty badly before I left. Pop'n and GF are in fully working (and surprisingly loud!) condition.

Initial D V4 is still really awesome.

The snare on DM was acting pretty strangely last time I was there.  Seemed to mishitting quite a bit even though sometimes it seems just fine.   Playing even some easy songs I noticed quite a bit of snare misses out of nowhere.   On harder songs with lots of snare I could notice it even more.

GF seemed to be in good shape.

Acme today Cheesy Be there or be square. Watch out for wannabe black, asian people. They will be playing Initial D v4. Or their friends are just going to watch them for hours.

WARNING : Initial D v4 actually overpowers the volume of ITG Sad
