Sorry, I actually played Friday evening the 18th.
Looks like my timing was just uber-bad.
I haven't been back since that time so I cannot confirm the condition as of Saturday or later.
Best,
Chris

Yo Chris,

Did you phone it in Friday night?  Acme rarely phones themselves, so if you called it in, you are the reason we found out about it.  If so, thanks for the call!  It was a valid call, as the service docket indicated a full rebuild with new sensor for that drum.  Smiley

Reminder to all: Do'nt be bashful, pick up your cell phone to call our service number when things do not work.  We appreciate it.  Without the communication, things can fall apart quickly.

Any updates on GF operation of late?

Yep, I phoned it in.  And I always do since I figure there is little impetus for the staff at ACME to do so.  Glad to know it was such a valid claim! =D

And I doubly encourage people to call problems in.  If you don't it may not get fixed and then when I show up at the arcade I won't have a wonderful, functioning DM...

Not certain the current condition of the GF.  Will try to play it sometime this week but likely can't get to ACME before Friday.
Thanks,
Chris

So I might be coming here sometime this weekend, not sure yet. This is MegamanX (Kevin Boddy) from Ohio, if you were unaware. So this place has ITG2 dedicab, PIU:PRO and Supernova? If so, that's pretty awesome. I'll try to stop by some time.

So I'll be up there tonight sometime in the afternoon/evening. Hope to see some people up there!

I'll say it for Kevin, since he's too humble to say it himself.

If you don't know him (who doesn't?) , he's one of the top 3 dance game players in the US.

What are you doing up in Washington, anyhow?

Oops, sorry about tonight if anyone went, haha. I went from like 2:00 to 4:00, I guess I had to be back. I should definitely be going another day. If it's tomorrow, it'll be later in the night, so that'll be better.

The ITG2 Machine was not working. The coin latch was eating numerous quarters, so hopefully the one dude called the guy to fix it soon.

And I'm in Seattle for my brother's wedding, which was yesterday. So I have the whole weekend to do whatever, haha.

And yeah, I guess I'm pretty good at dancing games. =P

PIU:PRO was really nice, though. I played lots and lots of that. And then Amber (nugg) told me about this coin glitch on Wednesday, and it happened at like 3:30, right before I was about to leave, lol. So I didn't get my freeplay on too much. So if you go, there may still be 16 credits left! Haha.

I don't. But I really don't care to follow any of it, so yeah.

 Shocked @ Amber!
MegamanX, you got here at a good time in terms of us having somewhat nice weather. It's nice to have some out of town visitors once in a while.

You know what's sweet? The buses being fucking down due to the parade. Yeah, that was pretty awesome going to downtown to see that the buses weren't available. That was nice.

Ugh, sorry I couldn't go guys, lol. This time it wasn't my fault, haha.

I'll TRY to be there tomorrow. I mean if I'm not there tomorrow, then I won't be there at all since I'm leaving, lol. So yeah, I should be there at some point.

BTW Bill I called the following issues in on Friday night, so if these have been fixed by now then there you go:

1. DM 10th mix: Hi-hat was busted AGAIN.  Even worse than last week.  Barely registers hits.  Have to play with auto hi-hat on if you want to pass anything.  Seriously, I feel like people at ACME are intentionally sabotaging this game.

2. GF 11th mix: Speakers are messing up.  They are making popping noises.

3. PopN Music Carnival: 6th button from the left ( I believe its the top right red button?  One of the select buttons) gets stuck.  Recommend you unstick-ify it.

Thanks; but its getting really hard to justify going to ACME with the Drummania and GF being broken every time I go...but I know you try your best.

Man...just when I was going to ditch Gameworks entirely.

It seems like DM is just a total bitch to maintain. Combine that with the ghetto repairs Illusionz did on that cabinet back when it was there, and I'm really not surprised it's broken this much. I even noticed similar stuff on the machines I played on in Canada. Looks like my dreams of V5 in Seattle are dashed since these continuous repairs must be quite expensive.

Just a side note...does anyone else think it's totally ridiculous that DM 9th has about twice as large of a songlist as DM 10th?

Chris, thanks for your call again the other night.  It was worked on late Friday night.  A wire was fractured where it left the drum.  At least the week old sensor was still okay.  The service report said GF was behaving by the time they got there, but will check that again this week.
The drum games are indeed the most intensive thing we have on the route to keep running well.  But so unique, which is why we still fight them.

Kevin: DM10 has a huge ee'mall set list which you could unlock and that was sort of the point. In fact, I believe it was one of the first to incorporate it? It was also the first to require the hub for play- even if you don't have a second game! Crazy, huh?

BTW, Anything after 10th (i.e. the V series) requires a new wiring harness (and a variety of other annoying factors) anyways making them extremely hard to upgrade past 10th without buying a brand new BemaniPC. Sucks for those of us and operators like Bill who want to do things legit.

Today when the tech's were there again, they heard GF with a popping sound coming from the audio system.  After some wiring repair, all appears well.  Let me know, thx.

Hey Bill!

There is a Pump It Up Pro update available now for all machines. There is also an expansion song pack that is available for all people who own machines. In order to get the pack for installation, you have to register your cabinet on the official site. Check out http://www.pumpituppro.com for the info. Thanks!

Double post time!

Bill,
Just got back from Acme, and I noticed two minor issues. Both are probably not things that are ultra important to fix, but I thought I'd post about them since I didn't want to clog up the service line with these minor problems.

Drummania's hihat is indeed fixed, fast hits now register perfectly. The new problem is that it isn't screwed in correctly, so the right side of the hihat wiggles about and doesn't register notes. The sensor is obviously fine, so I'd advise checking that out. I'm just worried that leaving it semi-exposed might result in sensor damage or wiring problems in the near future.

Pop'n Music has a sticky right blue button. I tried the "credit card down the side of the button" trick to no avail, so that could be a microswitch or whatever.

GF worked great, along with ITG and Pump. Didn't play DDR because I didn't have much time. Thanks for your constant efforts, Bill! It is cool to see someone who cares about the players.

Kevin,
Service dept. is there now working on those two things.  Let me know how it turns out.
Yes, we know about the PIU Pro upgrade.  But we were about to pull the game due to the free credit glitch.  However, I hear rumour that a new computer for it is on the way, so if that cures the free credit issue, then it will stay and also see the upgrade.

Hmm...I would not mind it being pulled if it meant upgrading to NX2!

Let's not forget the stroke of genius they had when they chose what to lock - namely half the old songs and like 2 new songs.
