Haha...you buy a cabinet but $180 for parts is too much?

Interesting.

yeah i did do the reset thing many times and the only time i took the card out was when the "bad address" thing kept reoccuring and i tried to fix it by reinserting it which didnt work =(
yeah, i've been noticing this too.. it's weird.  resetting the machine usually fixes it, or just reinserting the usb, at least for me.

The only thing I have qualms about is the damn USB. Does r21 just hate cruzer usb's or something?
yes, it has to do with the u3 software on it i think. i had a cruzer mini for a really long time and it would take anywhere from 5-10 tries to read the card correctly, but i just got a lexar brand and it works flawlessly.

Went last night, Amber was there and I watched her play for a bit.  Finally have a pretty good handle on what's going on, the sensors are actually TOO sensitive.
way to test for this is to stomp in the middle metal panel, you'll see that the left and down register regularly. yeah, exclusively the 1p side.

i might go sometime this weekend, anyway. i care about getting good scores, but i don't really care at the same time, haha.

Thx Amber for the info!
As for parts, we used to go to Roxor.  Since then, it's wherever you can find what you need.  Get used to expensive parts, no avoiding that.  this is all specialty stuff, and there are no cheap ways out.

I'm there about every day, and will be there tonight and tomorrow.  Look for the white guy with the sleeveless shirt!  Last night was packed, there were a bunch of people tearing it up including Darrrrryl and a guy I haven't seen before who had the most fluid style I've ever seen.  I feel bad for not remembering his name but I had a good time watching him in a more "freestyle" style of play rather than the standard tech stuff.

On a personal note, played some 11's without the bar last night trying to take a page from Darryl's book, and um... gonna have to work on that.  Great for the endurance building though, going to keep on that for a bit and see how my play evolves.

I remember you Brian, you were the former army guy.  I remember Keby too...  I might try to swing up there (I realize it kills my fuel economy driving up there often)...  I don't know how late I'll stay since I'll have to leave sunday morning for my trip...
Should be fun though.  Hope to see ya'll there.

I got home from Acme about an hour ago. It was pretty fun. ITG2 is in really good condition. And would anyone else besides me like to have Extreme back? Because I think its alot better then Max2 and it seemed like more people played Extreme when it was there

Oh yeah hey Amber its me Travis and Tuan gave me your USB that you gave to him and I formatted it and got a new ITG2 folder and it's been working fine for the most part. Sometimes I have to reset the machine once or twice though. And I think the card mount problem has to do with that stupid auto run program. But yeah thanks for giving it to us. I'll give you $5 for it the next time I see you

(nevermind I found the answer to my question)

I think it's OK as is. I can't think of any songs I miss that aren't already in Max 2 or SN. I'm pretty certain that most new songs that came out in Extreme (that weren't in Max 2) are carried over to SN.

Plus, I can find Extreme machines almost anywhere. I don't see Max 2 and SN machines as often.

Eep.  The 1p on ITG is now completely borked.  The down arrow flashes on and off at random intervals.

Stan was there yesterday and took it apart to try and fix it.  When he put it back together, it was super-sensitive as it was before, then he stepped on it hard once, and it settled down.  Like the sensor just needed to be compressed or something.  My buddy Allan did a set and it looked like everything was fixed, the pad worked great.  Then the instant Stan walked out the door it flipped out and completely stopped working.  I played on 2p the rest of the night, and when I went back today, it was still out of commission.  With no pressure or full pressure it continues to activate and deactivate at (apparently) random intervals.

I just got back from Acme.  I think we have cured the player 1 issues, but please let me know.  3 more sensors have been replaced that were ultra responsive.  Now, in I/O test, I can bang on the stage and am getting no sensor signals like I was when I got started today.  Please advise, peoples.  Thx

Woo hoo, yeah the pads are (obviously) great now.  As for 2p having something "loose", it definitely wasn't on Saturday night, I was playing for a while and didn't notice anything of the sort.  Being a 5'10" 225 pounder I'm sure I'd notice if something were loose, and it was rock solid for me.

Hey Bill!

I was just curious about something to do with the Acme TGM cabinet, and figured this'd be a good place to ask about it.

I've heard from various sources that there's a VGA connection for video on the Type X board. Is there any way that you think you could wire up a split video out connector so a DVD or VHS recorder could be hooked up? Quite a few arcades in Japan do this so they can get high quality video recordings at tournaments, and I thought this would be a good time to ask about that since there's an upcoming TGM tournament (presumably, I don't know if I actually told you about this!) at SakuraCon where the Acme Ti is going to be used. I'm not really sure how to go about doing this, but I was just wondering if you knew any more than I do about something like this.

Ah, went back last night and saw what you meant by having something loose.  There were some screws missing from the far right of the pad, and the paper towel that someone had wedged in there was causing issues.  Stan took the 2p right arrow apart, cleaned it up, and screwed everything down, and as of when I left yesterday (8:30?) everything was working great.

Really appreciate the attention to the machines, it definitely does not go unnoticed.

And Amber... you're getting scary.
"Wait what was that?  You hit the button too fast to see.  99 point what?"
"99 point bad"

Hey Kevin,
Asked the tech's today, and they do not remember what that set up was for video out.  I bet you could do a little searching on the Taito type X system and find out?
