Hey Bill, just wondering if the DMV3 machine will be set back to what it used to be in terms of price and number of songs before it was out for repairs last time.   Thanks.

Yeah I asked about this a few pages back.  Kind of unclear what will happen-I'm fine with it either way.
Bill, it does seem the green/hi tom needs a look at. Monitor still needs to be de-gaussed as well on the DMV3.

DM could probably use a good going over in general - the snare and hat have been giving me a lot more trouble than the toms (the snare especially - on songs with a lot of left-hand snare work, I take a miss or two for every 5 or 6 proper hits unless I start hitting the snare as hard as I can)

So I noticed this when I was gearing up to play Heart of the Dragon, which is 5:24... Evidently the Marathon cutoff must be set to 5min because this song took 3 stages. Considering the 2-song is set at 3:30, wouldn't it make more sense to set the Marathon at 7min? Or hey, I'd happily settle for 6 or 6:30. Just think it's weird some people play 3 3-3:30 songs all the time amounting to 9-10min or so, plus song selection time, but my poor DF 5:30 takes all my stages Sad Was just hoping someone could make the change.

Thanks! Smiley

Is it possible to turn the SN2 volume up? I can't hear anything while ITG, GH, and the basket ball game are going off and loud people in general =P.

Anyways, thanks!

I'll be changing the Marathon cutoff next time I'm there - it's supposed to be higher anyway.  The 3:30 limit is supposed to keep sets under 10 minutes (I know 3x 3:30 is 10:30, but you'd have to carefully pick three songs between 3:20 - 3:30, it won't randomly happen) and I believe 6:00 is where it's supposed to be set, so I'll be bumping it up to 6:00.

Heads up,
ITG looks to be in good shape, and SN was turned up a bit today.  Please let us know if the SN low volume is still an issue.  THX

Aw damn must have just missed you Nimm!

BILL WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US!?

The volume got nudged down in the last 2 days after months of it being absolutely perfect. Now hordes and hordes of high school kids drove me out of the arcade tonight because I couldn't hear anything...  Angry

Please please turn it back up.... Just a tad would be perfect.... It's not audible during the busy hours now... I know I called already but figured I'd forum post too.

Thanks as always Smiley

?  News to us last night with your phone call.  Will scope it out next trip out.  SN2 did get turned up a few days ago.  Is the result of that washing out ITG?

It's definitely hard having those two machines facing each other - I think it'll always be a battle where one drowns out the other as long as they're directly in line with one another.

One thing I remember about my visit to Arcade Infinity back in the day is that Konami's machines (can't comment on ITG, but this is still likely true) do a reasonable job shooting sound straight back from the machine, so they can be next to one another at high volume and players won't notice, but it they face each other, they each wash out the other.  This led to a weird situation at AI where you couldn't hear the song when you watched someone play, but you could hear perfectly once you started your set.

Wasn't SN drowning it out. Believe me, I know the volume level of the machine. I got the ears of a MONGOOSE. Even the slightest nudge up or down is noticeable. Plus I know the ratio of how loud my steps are compared to how loud the song is, and no I wasn't just stepping harder yesterday Tongue

I could just be going crazy, but this mongoose says something nudged it down! I mean it doesnt need to be up much, maybe pi/16 radians clockwise or so.

Anyway thanks again for looking into it  Grin

I've played in arcades where the machines are back to back and this usually works out really well, too.

We have always wanted to stick one towards the back of the room, but that cannot work out as the Acme offices are on the other side of the back wall, hence why we have the quiter things back there.

I saw on a service report this morning that ITG was turned up last night at 9:00 P.M. or so.  How is the volume level today?

Hey Bill, just an FYI - the DMV4 machine needs some maintenance on the bass pedal - it's missing several bolts/screws and is rattling around a lot and having problems registering hits possibly because of this or a loose connection.

Thanks.

ITG volume is great, Supernova still can't really be heard over ITG.  I think it's just because they're directly facing each other; I don't remember having any problems like this when ITG was closer to the front and Supernova was still where it is. I'm not sure if it's possible to do anything about it, though.

Going to ACME at opening with Catherine from Canada for a few hours today.  Smiley
