Never thought I'd say this but Pumps volume needs to be turned down a bit. It's overpowering everything else in the room.

Sssh, I already feel like an asshole for having to complain about the volume. Sad I would fight someone to be able to adjust it myself, it's usually low enough that as soon as anyone plays a nearby game it's difficult to hear anything and if someone plays Guitar Hero I usually just end up trying to wait out their song.

Yeah House of the Dead 2 and Guitar Hero could be turned down a bit. And the boxing game could go near the bar and pool tables for all the alpha males.

Oh and about Pump, it was super loud on Saturday and it was hurting my ears. I only played one set.

Yes, Pump was way too loud.  Somehow the volume pot got bumped up to the max, glad none of the speakers blew!  It's back to a playable level now.  Or if not, please advise.  Are the once wobbly bars in better shape now?

When I was there yesterday, it was how I described it in my previous post (fine if nothing nearby was being played, otherwise really hard to hear). Bars have been fine; I think some panels on the 1P side might need examining but I'd have to spend some more time to isolate which and unless I go Friday night I won't have a chance until next weekend since the Northwest Majors tournament is this weekend.

Sorry for being such a pain in your ass about the volume; I know it's gotta be hard to balance things in such a tight arcade, especially with a total of three dancing games and a Guitar Hero machine. Fortunately Guitar Hero isn't played that much when I'm there usually!

I would like to confirm Dr. Z's post above, I've visited twice in the past week and both times I had issues with the left arrow sticking on the P2 side of ITG. It would happen on average about twice per song or every other song, with a high count of 5 pad misses on the left arrow.  Hope those sensors can get cleaned soon!

The sensors are all new!  You might try rebooting the game, strange things have been happening with that cabinet.

Regarding PIU, we have had requests for more song selection time.  Checked in to that, and the factory setting is 60 seconds.  The maximum the program will allow us to set it to is 90 seconds, where it is at now.  No adjustment for more song select time.  sorry bout that.

PIU's volume has been normalized. Thank you, Bill's tech! Smiley

Sweet! Since I'm moving to San Diego next month I'm probably gonna skip Northwest Majors this weekend so I can spend more time with Pump before I go, because who knows when I'll see another machine again. :(

Plus I have to get to level 8!

Bill, your technician left his gloves on a machine today. I turned them over to lost and found.

Also, the coin jam on the 2P side of PIU is fixed. There was 7-8 quarters backed up in there. :x

ITG is secretly $1.25 because the 2P coin slot eats 1 out of every 4 quarters or so. Might be one of those weird random issues that is fixed with a reboot, but I didn't have a chance to check.

So the ITG machine crashed today saying the memory was full. Could someone take a look at it? The game won't restart...

Says the GNOME wasn't installed properly, not sure what that is... I called in as well. I tried to restart the machine but to no avail. Just letting you all know! Hope it'll be fixed soon!

Hope Tony has a chance to look at this, our guys are stumped on what is going on in that computer.  Tony's creation.

I'll see what I can do about taking a look today. I'm not sure what would suddenly run it out of memory if that is the issue, since it was running fine before and nothing's been added for a couple weeks. If it's GNOME related, I'll probably need to pull the computer for a day for an OS reinstall, since that's a low-enough level component that any fix will probably introduce other problems.

Could you keep us posted about the machine? Don't want to make the trip to ACME just to turn back around haha. Thanks!

Just got back from Acme, had to pull the computer. Seems like some configuration file got corrupted or something like that (it's not an error that I've seen before, but the messaging points to this) - there's a good chance it's a quick fix (haven't checked Google yet), but if it's not, then we're looking at a fresh OS image. I will hopefully be able to run the computer back in working condition tomorrow after I get home from work; I will post again before I run down to reinstall the computer.

Whatever got corrupted is keeping me from even getting logged in to the computer, which is making it tricky to actually resolve. The error is happening somewhere between GNOME (the desktop manager) and X (the graphics manager). Given that I can't do much, and those are terrible components to debug, I'm going to focus my efforts on getting the Debian drive up and running, since it's close to done and the alternative is honestly a full reinstall of Ubuntu, which is going to take longer. Very unlikely I can get the machine back running before Acme closes tonight, but I'm aiming to have the computer working again tonight, with the computer going back in sometime tomorrow evening if all goes well.

No option to boot into single user mode off the install media?   You can do that with Red Hat, don't know if you can with Ubuntu but would be surprised if you couldn't.  (Red Hat calls it Rescue Mode.)
