Last night was awesome even though the rotation on the machine was crazy last night.

Chris and Abbye - its always awesome seeing you guys. I wish we could have got in alot more games in but its ok. Kevin, you are getting better but you need to work on your FA its the one thing you slacking in because your stamina is alright but you need to practice on that. It was awesome to meet the other Chris, Tuan(not sure if I spelled your name right so I'm sorry if I messed it up.) and Josh. Hopefully, I will see guys around more often when I'm able to go out there.

Anyways, I won't be out there today due to it being Valentines day and my wife would kill me if I ran out to play a few games on today.

So far the ITG 3 machine ate $3.00 worth of quarters. Seriously, someone needs to address this! I can't keep paying $1.25-$1.50 for every game.

Here is the sad part, I can't even get my money back from the front desk. First of all, they will tell me that they can't/won't. Second of all, they will put an out of order sign so we can't play. Finally, this issue is causing people to hit the coin receptor to try and get their deserved credit.

Fix this. Don't just put a bandaid over it, fix it.

Thanks!

Yeah, especially since the outer guard isn't that much of any use to the cab. Machine still eats, and people can still damage the cab from hitting it in an attempt to self-reimburse. The front desk refuses to refund you or at least get back the eaten credits, and if they do decide to give you anything back, they have to also put the machine out of order when it's clearly still functional but just needs some sort of adjustment with the coin guard.

I didn't really want to bring this up before since it was just a minor issue, but if it's happening to others a lot more, something should be done or tried.

Hey Bill,

Seems like there is a big problem with the ITG 3 machine! The timer is back on, it costs $0.25 to play, and the arrows on the stage are set to scroll in the game menu. I don't know if a technician tried to fix the coin receptor and just accidentally revert it back to post Sakura con settings but its pretty bad. Everything is messed up, including the timing window. Obviously, there are going to be a large number of players tonight so I'd suggest it be fixed ASAP, otherwise I don't think a lot of people are going to be happy. There are already 2 people there and they are pretty upset.

All the work Tony did over the last 2 weeks have all been erased as well! This is unacceptable... I'm actually pretty upset, please correct this MAJOR problem.

All the money we put in to score was in vain... So much playing down the drain...  Sad

You can leave the $0.25 per play though!

The machine was perfectly fine when I was there earlier today and I didn't change anything. Whatever happened, it happened between me leaving at 1:00 and whenever people first saw the issue.

The cost per play and timer are in the operator menu, but the arrow scroll thing can only be changed manually from the command line - Bill's techs wouldn't have tried and even if they did, they couldn't have gotten in and done anything without the admin password.

There are only 3 possible explanations:
- Some really weird OITG glitch changed the settings
- Somebody set up a bootable USB drive and bypassed the password by loading their own OS (i.e. someone tried hacking the machine) and something went horribly wrong
- Somebody tried turning Simply Love on

I'm leaning towards really weird glitch, since no one with access to the theme settings (me plus Bill's techs) would have had reason to change it and no one else would have been getting into the machine, because I'm really doubting anyone tried hacking the machine in the last 3 hours.

This will be easy for me to fix, but I can't get down to Acme this minute. I was already planning on going tomorrow morning, so that's the worst case timeline for a fix.

@Tony - Sounds like it might be time to do a fresh clean re-install

Whoa, WTF?
Our tech did go there to install new coin switches yesterday morning, as I saw the posts about it eating quarters.  But he did not go in to the program.  He was there around 11:00 A.M Saturday morning, sounds like before Tony.

I think something glitched by the sound of things.

Just saw our service reports.  Someone called yesterday, and our guy was up last night.  Turned the pricing back, and also noticed that custom songs were turned off, so turned that on.  Hope things are better now?

So strange, I wonder what happened?!  Undecided

At least Tony is going to take a look at what happened and hopefully revert it back to how it was before this strange glitch.

I received a text from 2 people about an "older guy" inside the ITG 3 machine around 3PM yesterday. I just hope it wasn't some random person trying to gain entry into the machine that set this whole thing off.  Undecided

Waiting on Tony as of right now. Abbye and I texted Laura about this happening and she told Tony.

Tony said he'd take a look either last night or today, so I'm just hoping to hear from him with what happened.  Smiley

Machine should be all better software-wise now. Don't know exactly what happened, but roughly the same set of settings that change when throw Simply Love crashes were affected in addition to a handful of things that can be changes from the Op menu.

For reference, the things that were still messed up (and are now fixed) when I got there:
- Global Offset was changed from -6ms to 0ms
- Input debouncing was turned off
- Menu Scroll Rate was changed
- Dedicated Menu Buttons (navigate menus with the pads) was turned on
- Double costs two credits instead of one
- The theme was set to the wrong Chromatic version (I keep a backup on the machine in case I break something, but I haven't updated it for a while).

Normally, the telltale sign of a Simple Love crash is 10% BGBrightness, but the machine has been set up to revert any changes to that setting on reboot, so if it did do that, the change got blown away automatically. I'm going to be out of town on business tomorrow through Friday, but next weekend, I'll get some of the other settings set up to self-fix the same way, which should make it a lot harder for this to happen again.

Anyway, after all the fixes, I played without noticing any other software issues for a little over an hour, so I think we're good. If anyone goes find anything, let me know and I'll get it fixed as soon as I can.

While the software issues should be resolved, 2p down was giving me a lot of errors - mostly way offs and decents, which usually means it's oversensitive and getting ghost triggers from the panel bouncing around. Also, the 1p center panel was down to one of four screws, which caused it to bounce around under your feet while you play, so I moved a screw from one of the corner panels to fix it. We definitely want to make sure each of the blank panels has at least two screws, preferably on opposite corners for stability.

Awesome, thank you Tony for getting everything fixed up and ready to go!

As far as the panels go, I will fix them up ASAP. Not sure why the center panel on the P1 side only had 1 screw! I hope it wasn't anyone trying to temper with the machine... It seems unlikely but you never know.

Thanks again for your work.

So someone went and messed with the machine, but not only that, they also messed with the pads? That's going a bit too far. Those are in godly condition. They cannot be fiddled with.

How about checking the security footage from the arcade? There's a camera with a clear view of the machine, if I recall. It's not okay to just let people get away with fucking things up for everyone else without even owning the thing.

I actually agree with vyhd on checking the footage just rule out temperament to the cabinet. I mean the two scenarios are possible due to the rough est. of 3hr time gap.

A quick question for Tony,

Is there a possibility that the timing window was altered somehow when the ITG 3 machine glitched or whatever might have happened?

After the glitch/tempering happened, I noticed that timing anything seemed impossible on harder/faster charts, it just doesn't feel the same. I've redone the modding back to what I had it originally, just incase someone touched it, but timing just isn't happening. A lot of way-off and descent from both sides are incredibly annoying! Not sure if the timing window could've changed, so I thought I'd ask you since you know a lot more about the computer, etc.

I just asking because right before the issue occurred, I was SDEing 14's, now I can't even full combo them.
