Regarding the Acme crash earlier this week. I never did know how it got fixed until now. Just heard one of our techs took a keyboard, and just needed to enter a key to get passed the hang up. Just an FYI for all.

Went out to Acme sunday feeling like crap. I'm still sick which is a deal breaker on playing like I want...I did work on FA mostly while I was there nothing notable in my opinion. Sadly I will be gone on the 28th till May 13th due to being underway(yes navy life sucks)
Chris and Abbye, I hope I do see you guys before I do leave and hopefully I'm feeling better by that time to get a few games in with you guys.

SIMPLY LOVE v3 (edited)
I hear that our ACME cab runs on oITG. If not, then SM3.95?
Either way, I've edited the theme a little bit and it works on my oITG on my lappy, and I'm assuming it should also be compatible with SM anyhow, and I'm hoping that this can run at the ACME cab.
I don't remember the original download link of the theme, but I had it myself (which had already initially worked fine with my oITG) and I edited a little bit more to keep it from crashing at certain random parts. I changed some metrics.
I hope that testing this theme out would yield some positive results.

Regarding
ITG
:
PlayerOne-side began with frequent pad misses during my first set then turned into unplayable in the middle of my 2nd set. Both the Up and Down arrows were getting stuck
The sound for ITG is also set a bit too high. Normally I'm totally fine with loud, but the current setting just makes certain songs piercingly annoying.
Pump
-wise, I noticed a bit of inconsistency with the PlayerOne for Fiesta 2. Don't recall exactly which sensors though.
Sorry, didn't stick around long enough yesterday to test the Player Two sides.

Just finished playing today. Fixed the sticky arrows, turns out the sensor was super sensitive so I swapped it out with a less sensitive one.
As far as the sound goes, please don't touch it... It's fine. It may have seemed loud due the the arcade being empty and quiet. During the weekends, if the sound is any lower, you won't e able to hear anything.

They were kinda fine at Sakura-Con but last Friday they kept giving pad misses up the ass even for King Tuan.

Unfortunately, Abbye and I were unable to attend Sakuracon to help upkeep the stage. We tried to overhaul it before the Cab left in hopes that pad errors weren't common, but if there were a lot of pad misses, obviously there was nothing I could do.
Abbye and I were there today and they seemed fine. We reworked them after Sakuracon and reworked them again recently. When the Cab game back from Sakuracon, the stage was an unholy mess, I didn't know where to begin.
Thankfully, after about 1 hours worth of working on the stage we got it back to working decently well. As far as pad misses, Abbye and I didn't have any today. Nothing seemed to be out of order and everything seemed to be functioning well.
But of course, I can take another look when I have the time to go up. I obviously haven't been playing lately, therefore, I haven't been up at ACME to maintain the stage as often as I used to. Next time I go, maybe in a couple days, I can take another look and see what is causing the issues.

FWIW, the sakuracon arcade is on the 6th floor of a building, and the floor bounces as people play. The changes to the pads you're talking about probably had to do with Tony having to account for the bouncing.

Pads should never need to be opened up multiple times a week. Something is being done wrong if this is the case.

If it is so desired I am more than willing to do a full rebuild of the ITG pads. This would take a lot of time and it would be challenging to do during public operating hours. The machine likely needs almost a full set of new sensors and some major work done on the pad internals including new pad I/O boards or at least making sure that the existing connections to the pad I/O boards are rock solid. I also wonder if any problems are being caused by the software and hardware configuration.

Hey kevin,
Over time, about every sensor in there is new. But it has has strange behavior ever since we moved it out of Sakuracon one year ago. No this year, but last year. Things started getting funny as far as it's I/O inputs it seems, or how the computer is handling that switch closure information.
The stage I/O board has also been swapped out, and no difference noted in machine operation. Just for whatever it's worth, thought I would share what I know.

A complete overhaul on the pads might very well be necessary to ensure more of a "long-term" fix. Some collaboration between Chris and Kevinddr might be really cool~
One tricky thing about ITG's flushed pads is we cannot necessarily relate the length of durability of Acme's machine to that of a privately-owned cabinet like Sean's or Andy's. Public machines will take a very
different
(not necessarily worse) kind of a beating from drunk heavy stompers than when Evan plays back to back 17s : ]

Just wanted to make note, I only open the stage up when someone reports and issue with the stage. Aside from opening a panel or two to add or remove tape to adjust the feel of stage, Abbye and I personally never really need to open the stage up to fix anything, we don't have many false triggering or any none-triggering issues when we play.
Only time we've had trouble was when the machine came back from Sakura-Con last year (before modding) and this year when the debouncing was extremely off-set after a crash. When the machine came back after the crash, Abbye and I initially thought it was due to the way we modded the stage so we opened it up several times to attempt to alleviate the problem, but it turned out to be a software issue and not the modding.
As far as opening the stage up multiple times, again, it is only when I get a message about false triggering, which often times is the players fault and not the stages, or when I get a message on the forums about the "stage being fucked." Often times, when I do go the day after I receive a message it is to me, completely fine.
For instance, I got a message about the stage miss triggering on Friday and when Abbye and I went to play on the following week, I did not notice any issues and did not have any miss triggers. Mind you, we are testing on multiple different difficulties ranging from slow 10's through hellishly fast 16's and scoring extremely well. When we aren't noticing any issues, it is hard for us to really know what the true problem may be.
If it was up to me, I wouldn't be opening the stage to "fix" it as often as I am. Maybe 2-3 times a month for upkeep and maintenance. Even though it is a public access cabinet, I don't think a couple people playing a few times will hinder the stage beyond repair when we aren't there. For Abbye and I, the stage is in great working order and doesn't need any attention at this point. We are the only 2 players in this state that go to ACME as often as we do, at least 4 to 5 times a week, and we will notice if something is wrong.
As stated before, the problem may lie beyond the modding.
Thanks

Team! Tony ran into some problems while setting up the trac (the previous way of tracking changes to the ITG machine), so we've set up a simpler and hopefully more approachable solution.
Check out the new issue tacker here:
https://trello.com/b/L59udgjj/acme-itg
I'll let Tony fill in the details since he's the primary point of contact, but here's what you need to know to get started: once you create an account (which is dead simple if you already have a gmail account), you can easily request new song packs by adding cards to the song pack list.

Just went in yesterday and Chris, michael, tuan, and joshua were also there
The bottom arrow on left pad seems to stay stuck down sometimes, happened to me on summer [speedy mix] and chocolate disco [7] to test. It sort of felt like there may have been gum underneath the arrow? It felt funky, though I doubt it was gum lol. Other than that, machine is awesome as always

Hello!
For the last two days, Abbye and I have spent a considerable amount of time reworking the entire stage at ACME, about 6 hours total over 2 days.
We ripped everything out and re-modded the entire stage.
Here is what we did to both Player 1 and Player 2 sides...
First of all, we removed all the foam from the entire stage. We realized that the weather stripping (foam) gave the stage a bouncy/squishy quality that interfered with the arrow panel directly contacting the sensors and only triggering the arrow when pressure was liberally applied. Therefore, we strictly used masking tape, roughly 45-50 layers per sensor to give it a flushed and solid feel while playing. Now, the stage should give you a nice firm/resistant feel while stepping, instead of bouncy/squishy feeling.
Secondly, we removed all unnecessary sensors. What we deemed as unnecessary were the sensors we typically don't step, i.e.; the very top of the up arrow, very left of the left arrow, etc. What this did for the stage was eliminate any false triggers from the unnecessary sensors triggering due to vibrations, as we all know, the sensors at ACME can be triggered by an ant walking on them. The only sensors remaining are the inner most sensors, or what I like to call it... the stepping sensors. These sensors are sensitive enough to trigger when stepping on any part of the arrow panel, so doubles players have no fear.
Finally, all stepping sensors have been split open and had electrical tape added inside the sensor to reduce its sensitivity. Without this process, all panels were far to sensitive and were triggering excessively causing false triggers.
This is the extent of what was done to the ACME stage over the last 2 days.
If there are any issues that occur while you are playing, please feel free to post on the forums and I will deal with it ASAP.
