DAMMIT! The IIDX machine broke. It got a ROM error when I selected .59 L7. I told a cashier about it but he didn't seem very concerned. He did give me my 75 cents back though.

Oh yeah, don't pick .59, haha. It crashes. Also, when you have problems with a machine (especially a big one like that), it's better to call Masterman Vending and report it. The Acme staff don't know how and aren't really supposed to fix the games. There's stickers on almost all the games with the phone number.

Could I have their phone number? I saw it on the machines but I don't remember the number.

They already know about the CD ROM error on .59, we told a tech in person about 2 weeks ago

It's a pretty well-known fact: Acme's staff don't give a shit about the arcade.

Hey guys, if the IIDX ever has an error like that, go ahead and reach behind it and unplug/plug it in again, and give it a while to boot before you tell the desk or call bill. Most of the time, that'll fix it.

It doesn't fix the fact that it comes up with the error again every time you choose .59

You're right, it doesn't. I was just offering some general IIDX troubleshooting advice for anyone that didn't know. Tongue

Video playback is really dying on the IIDX machine. Some stuff plays fine, but a lot of songs videos will just freeze up then switch to a black screen. One even gave me the "Victor CD/DVD System" screen.

Ohhhhh great........I knew that Victor DVD player would die eventually.  We have been searching for one already.  Seems hard to come by, and the games background videos will only work with this model player.  Argh!

I say scrap IIDX while it's still worth something and put the money towards a different machine... I and most of us never or seldom play it anyway.

That new golf game is kind of cool in that I came ridiculously close to making a 210yard eagle chip.  But I didn't.  And boy does the volume get really high on that game.

Haha if I were Bill, I would say fuck it to buying any new machine after reading this sentence.  I recall how much everyone pretty much begged to have any IIDX at all around here, and after a year it gets this "None of us ever play it anyway" treatment.  Wonderful.  I'm kinda glad I'm able to enjoy 8th style and at the same time not be a bitch about it being not the newest version or my favorite game of the moment or whatever.

I kinda want to buy a DD upgrade kit (hardware+software for pretty cheap now since GOLD uses new hardware again) from Japan so I can play it here.  Not we because honestly, I wouldn't want you to play it, because what will happen is "omg finally we upgraded it's the greatest I think I'll be nice for a month or two and then stop playing it because it's not IIDX GOLD, and then whine and moan every chance I get again."  And by "you" I mean... well no I mean you.

You "seldom or never play it" because you seldom or never go to the arcade period. It's funny how much you demand with how little support you give Bill.

IIDX is the most played game between James, Amber, and myself. It's actually the only thing I play at Acme anymore.

I hope you're just referring to Tada here, because I know for a fact that I would play a lot of IIDX for more than just a month or two if we got DD. The difference between 8th and 9th is huge itself, and I would be really psyched if we just got a 10th or RED!

Well, I guess Tada is really saying that he wants to step up and buy this piece of crap machine then?  No problem, will deliver it to his house tomorrow along with the invoice then, haha.  Thanks for the positive comments, guys!  I will always be on the lookout for an affordable hardware system for that game.

Yes, it's earnings show that not many people play it.  Real close to the poorest performer there now.  Maybe we should swap it with the 5 key 7th append at Narrows?  Doubt that is going to be a popular idea, but we could do it if anyone wanted a different cabinet for awhile.

I was implying that we should sell it, since it's going to drop in value both due to the DVD player being on the fritz, and GOLD coming out in the US later this year.  Sometimes I have the feeling that you people interpret my posts the way you want to interpret them, just so you can get back at me.

Godai> It's been a year and four months.  I've played it to death.  What, do I have to promise I will put x amount of money per week for y years into IIDX, or promise that I would love it forever?  I'm not obligated to do either.  This is the whole reason Konami releases new versions of Bemani games.  If they didn't, a lot of people would have stopped playing by now.  What's happening at Acme is pretty much that on a smaller scale.  Also, what makes you think I would get sick of a DD after one month or two?  You cannot read my mind and extrapolate my behavior.

Davyn> Where the hell are you getting your data from?  Just because I'm not there when you're there doesn't mean I don't go.
