I'm afraid to know, but how's this machine?

Ask and ye shall receive:

I've been keeping most of these northern machine locations up-to-date, because this is all I have to work with up here. Check'em out, just type in 98036 for the Lynnwood zip code:

(EDIT) I guess I'll add some comments:
It's a decent place to play, and at a great location (where 405 & I5 meet). The machine works well and although the pads aren't as sensitive as I'd like, they're usable. However, at a $1 per game, it's really expensive and you're playing on an Extreme machine which half the songs don't have their song select preview music. Top that off with the front desk people making ridiculously load announcements over the adjacent intercom and you have yourself an expensive, marginal experience. Sadly, it's one of the only decent locations in the northern areas to play at.

Someone told me this place has an ITG2 upgrade cabinet. Can anyone confirm this and tell us what condition it's in?

I went there about a month ago. And it is an upgraded Itg2 And all the speakers were blown. Could hardly make out any music. And it took nearly 2 to three min to load my memory card. But i'm going to go by this weekend to see if they improved it cause I think I saw a sticker for s & s on it. And that's the same gguy who does evergreen's so it could possibly be fixed. And the pads were pretty good at the time too. So ya i'll get back to it this weekend

Update as of 9-27-10

The DDR Extreme machine has been removed and they now have an ITG2 upgrade cabinet there.

The cost to play is 3 tokens, or 75 cents. The machine is r6, not r21. So you can't load custom songs onto it. However, the machine did read my card very quickly and it saved the scores successfully.

The machine itself is in pretty poor condition. The screen is extremely dark, but playable. The pads work OK, but not great. The bracket that holds the pads together isn't secured, so the 1p and 2p sides can actually separate from each other. Be careful if you want to play doubles. I didn't hear anything too wrong with the speakers. I'm sure the cabinet has seen better days, but I could play through a song without too much difficulty.

I can only suggest playing here if you're desperate to play ITG2. Otherwise, go play the DDR Extreme at Evergreen Lanes or the ITG2 dedicab at Acme.

edit: An interesting note, I saw scores from M477 on the machine. Perhaps this came from somewhere (relatively) local?

i have no idea where it could have came from, i never knew that S&S even had an ITG2 machine till i went there that one time. and on a side note, i knew a while ago that darryl used to own S&S, but i really don't know if he still does, but if he does then he might already know about your machine and what its like since he would have that one there at majestic.

Well. S & s might get mad about it and the people at majestic are bitchess about every little thing that goes on there

I just got off the phone with the guy who owns the machine.  He said that he is totally fine with it.  Also, he said that apparently the pads aren't working to great but he plans on fixing it this weekend.  But in the mean time, if you are having problems just reboot the machine and it fixes the problem temporarily.  The guy's name is Steve.

i would say its out in the open cause there's nothing around it, and i went there today to play it and for some reason it was turned off, didn't bother asking why

Whenever a machine is off because it is unplugged, I always plug it back in to see if it works. Most times it's in perfectly playable condition, but some patrons pulls the plug because they're sick of listening to the attract music.

On a similar note, I was at Evergreen Friday and there were 4 men playing pool in the arcade. As I stepped up to play DDR, I heard one of them say "I knew we should've unplugged the dance machine". Not exactly the most inviting atmosphere I've played in...but keep this in mind the next time you go to an establishment and the machine is off.

Alright. Its actually not as bad as I was expecting. 1p side us pretty good. Id give it a 8 out of 10 for the pads p2 side. 6 if 10. Had a few random missed.  Other cons. Screen is still really dark and top right speaker is dead. Machine is still sitting at r6 so it would be nice to get it updated somehow.

Have they at least secured the two halves of the pad together? When I played there months back, the pads were separating from each other when I played doubles...If I was playing a banzai song, I would've totally felt like Indiana Jones.

Thanks for the update. I edited Z-i-V's listing to reflect it.

Too bad. It was a nice place to play when they had Extreme. But that ITG2 upgrade cab was terrible the two times I saw it.
