They (we) just updated the old Narrows ITG cab, so that it's much more customizable than just the boring ol' officials-only cabinet. I say my other comment about the ACME cab figuratively, I mean that this is a way better option than the ITG cabinet at ACME because there's someone who's much more active with updating the Narrows cab.

I'm certain all of them, probably not as far as 2013, though, or maybe. The machine does have a crapload of packs, and usually Boo, the one who adds the packs, does really well with updating it.

Cool, I live right by it, or at least until this weekend lol. I may have to check it out.

I updated this silly thing for anyone who cares. I'm also going to be there on Friday if anyone wants to stop by and play a few sets.

How's Narrows/the converted cabinet doing these days?

Hanging in there... We still update the cab once in awhile and people play down there from time to time, but the pads aren't quite what they were. Hey, we work with what we get, at least.

I go when I'm not busy with my new job, but I can play 16s and stuff okay-ish on P1. P2 is a different story but I've never liked the way P2 is set up on the machine, anyway. Hope I see some new faces down there, it might revive my will to play the game.  Embarrassed

I'm still planning on making my return eventually. Bill did give me the ok to come back quite a while ago (2013, I believe), but I've just mainly been trying to let more time pass. The thing that happened was almost 9 or 10 years ago now though, so I guess I might visit the next time I have funds to play around with, maybe...

Cool, I'll be back in there soon then. I should be getting some funds over the weekend. Just to play it safe, I'll make sure I've got a bit of cash in hand, just so they won't see me as someone who's just "hangin' out" or something.

Does the StepMania machine have that feature where you can play longer songs but they count as two or three depending on length, or is it still the rigid ITG limits that you can kinda sorta get around with patched oggs on some versions?

The machine can play long songs, they are worth 2 or 3 rounds depending on how long they are. There's no .ogg patching involved, but USBs are disabled atm  Lips sealed.

There is a chance we will have a DDR X3 available in a couple months.  Would the players there at narrows rather have that over Super Nova 2?

Me personally I'd love to have an X3 over there, and I'm pretty sure everyone I know who plays there wouldn't mind the upgrade!

X3 would be awesome to have locally. Even though I do want to venture out to Tukwila to visit Acme again and check out Round 1, it'd be a huge plus to be able to just take the route 1 bus up to get to Narrows to play something new.

I too would absolutely love to have X3 at the Narrows! I was always pondering going to Tukwila to play it, and even played at bit at a convention.

I got the funds I was expecting, so I stopped in today, broke my 20, and played 2 sets on each machine. The GM was nice and I don't think I saw anyone who worked there back then. As I played the SN2, the up arrow on P2 might have been a bit fiddly, but those panels also feel really deep in, more than on any other machine I've played on, so I might have just been stepping wrong, and the high end of the sound was cutting out momentarily at times, leaving just bass. Not sure if y'all know or not...

The StepMania cab was pretty cool to play on, but the color looks like it's set to 16-bit instead of 32, and the theme was just a tad glitchy, but not bad, though when I selected Hide Judgements on one song and had the Cyber noteskin selected, the receptors were huge! It looked a bit funny. You'll be seeing some of my records on the machine as "KTUE!" as I play more and more, unless scores get deleted regularly...

Also, I have some more stuff by Renard that's not widely released, or you can see it at heckscaper.com/bemani if someone who can wants to grab the newer files and do an update. We also need the files for DDRX-X3, from the looks of it.

I'll be back in tomorrow afternoon to play a couple more sets on the SM machine.

UPDATE: I came and played a couple more sets the next day as planned, and I tried the Cyber noteskin again without the Hide Judgement option, but the receptors are just big anyway for some reason.

As someone who wanted to play X3 the entire time I was up in the area and never did, I would be very happy to see X3 at that location. It really is a nice quiet venue.
I hear Round 1 wants to beta test 2014 and if that ever happens, moving X3 to a location that still gets some solid foot traffic would be a good idea.

Hey, just checking to confirm if X3 is at Narrows yet? I wanted to stop by in the coming week to give it a try.

Cool! Had a good time trying out the new mix today! I thought I only could play one set, but someone else put in 1 1/3 credits but didn't play it, just left it there, so I tried out 2nd mix mode first, but forgot how to get to expert mode, but I did get to play PARANOiA MAX on Another, which is an Exorbitant (8 footer), so I got a challenge in. Then I played X3 in pro mode and passed a 14 and a 13, but my stamina was pretty much gone after that. I quite like that interface, but I'm really not used to things scrolling so smoothly, not really used to 60+ FPS, but it is so much better these days. But yeah, thanks for the X3 there at Narrows, fun times!

Hey, the former KidTuesday here. I popped in recently and it looks like X3 is now $1 for 2 songs instead of 3. Is that a mistake or is there a reason for it? Also, I'm not sure all the songs are available that could be. For example, I looked for PARANOiA Revolution on there and just didn't see it. Are some songs premium mode only or is there a way to access/unlock them?

DDR X3 isn't online so over half the X3 content is locked. The only way you're going to get to play Paraonia Revolution is at home or outside the U.S. What you see is what you get sadly.

It should be 3 songs.  I will check the machine settings.  If it's not 3 songs next week, shoot me a reminder.  :-)
