- ORIGINAL POST -
Wanted to let the people who visit these forums know that I've got a Max2 machine converted into a StepMania cabinet at my house that's just itching for some new players. I live near Selah/Yakima, and I can't seem to muster a lot of interest from local clubs/groups, so I thought I'd post some info about it here:
- 10,000+ songs
- countersunk stage screws
- arrow panels flush with metal stage
- StepMania 5 with Simply Love v4.2 installed
- 1 player and 2 player enabled and working
The left and right sides perform about the same (8.5 out of 10). The sensors are currently tuned for singles play (not doubles). I've played with socks only as well as with shoes and the pads perform well either way. For now, song selection is done using a keyboard, and the pad/cab lighting is adjustable but does not follow the arrows or music.
If you're interested in stopping by and just checking out the setup, or if you're interested in playing regularly (there aren't any other machines in the area that I know of) feel free to shoot me a message!

Nice cab! Looks like you're putting in some real work to get it looking great.
Sadly you're about 2 to 4 hours from any dance game communities depending on if you're headed to Portland or Seattle. Unfortunately most everyone in those communities have their own private cabs or have access to similar set ups in arcades so it's pretty difficult to get people to come out.
Does your area have any local arcades? I'd try going on busy nights and ask around if their are any regulars, if so you can usually recruit a few people to come out and try your cab.

Cool-looking cab!
A couple years ago I used to frequently travel between Redmond and Ellensburg about twice a month, and Yakima's not too far. I even remember investigating a bowling alley and pizza places in that area in hopes of stumbling on a ddr machine.
I don't make it over that very often these days, but would like to try it out if I'm in the area.

What monitor did you use for the conversion? Looks like there's a widescreen LCD in there now and I'm still looking for a more adequate monitor than my awkwardly sized 24".

Here's the kind of monitor I used. I've got the GL2760H
S
which is almost identical to the one linked. It's pretty cheap for an HD monitor of that size, and so far I haven't had any issues with flicker, delay/response time, brightness, discoloration, or anything else. It's also very lightweight, and has four bolt holes on the back for mounting to something other than the monitor stand. Hope this helps
