Also, for anyone wondering: there is no DDR whatsoever. There is, however, both Pump It Up Prime and Infinity.
You'll still need to head over to ACME for your fill of 4-arrow.

Not that ACME is that far away, from what I'm hearing (and seeing from looking at Google Maps).
There was mention of DDR 2015 being at a California location for a period on the Round One website, though that's vanished now.

I added everything I could. There's way more and I couldn't find a few on Zenius' database (giant tetris, table flipping game, gundam vs next)

Japan does not observe DST, so the offline window will probably be different during DST. Also, I did some reading on Pendual...holy shit there's a lot of stuff in there. Seems complicated for a music game.

I believe the machines will continue working if they were able to connect to e-Amuse after being powered on (that is, they won't abruptly fatal if they lose their network connection).
However, it is not a one time thing. If you flip the power to the cabinet,
it will not boot without a connection to e-Amuse
, if it's a title which has the always-on DRM.
Part of the reason for this is that most newer games use a different revenue model. Instead of buying an upgrade kit, Konami just takes 30% of sales, so they require the connection to ensure that they're accurately tracking coin drops.

^This. To make it a little more clear, it's best to use the 2x bonus credits coupon if you're loading $50 worth of credits ($49 with club card)

So, since we do have at least two employees here, I have to ask..
Why no DDR? It seems like the Seattle location is an outlier in this regard. Any word on if there are plans to get a DDR 2014 cab at some point?
Not that I mind an excuse to play more Pump.. PIU doubles is super fun.

I suppose they want to reserve the competition.

Yes, but they also happen to be literally the only company in the country that can run DDR 2013+ mixes. That's a rather significant advantage.

Actually, it looks like most don't, mostly the newer locations. Only the two (seemingly oldest) locations have DDR. I didn't realize that.
I'm guessing it has to do with the massive cut Konami takes from revenue. With Pump, once you have the cabinet, an upgrade kit is around $1500 and it's one and done, versus the 30% take that Konami wants on all usage.

Finally figured out how the two dance games work today ^^
For those who plan to use a custom profile/usb for Pump:Prime, you need to register on
piugame.com
There's not exactly step-by-step instructions, but you'll basically just need to download the "prime" file from their website and store it on your flash drive before the cabinet will sense anything.
The Infinity cab seems a lot more straight forward with the automatic folder creation, like Pro2.

well you get it simply for buyinf a club card, i just suggested 10/30 to make ur dollar stretch the most for your first visit. you can load $100 if you like, the difference comes down to like 2 cents per credit.
I know its easy to blame konami all the time but the longer it goes with PW down the more I realize a lot of stuff ppl say is half word of mouth and half good old fashioned all-american entitlement. A lot of the newer "DRM" and paseli stuff were the only ways they saw to keep profitable with japan's new taxes. They also have no reason to give a damn about countries who cant run their games. Honestly, all of these arcade games are super niche, with an extremely small playerbase vs. population, and spread out across the comparatively massive country. Round 1 took a pretty big risk, but it must be paying off.
The only reason there's no DDR is because Round 1 hasnt paid to license the songs in the game yet. Im not 100% on this, but the cabs were all simply older ones Round 1 still had lying around in japan. That might only apply to stuff like popn though, which is why we have Tune Street and not Fantasia. Theres no way to get Fantasia anymore, and they ran out of spare Fantasia cabs.
DDDR is probably a little different since it was kind of still around via Betson back when PHM opened. Thats still technincally happening with DDR 2014, it's gonna be a full on location test with a localized UI. If (when) that does well at PHM, theyll be bought for (Im guessing) every round 1. No idea what kind of implications this could bring for A) any arcade to get it, which turns to B) American eAmuse?? But Im not holding my breath at all there.
Ok this turned pretty speculative but really I can't blame Konami for shutting PW down..

Was down at Round One shortly after they opened this morning. Saw someone trying to fix something with Sound Voltex, and one staff member thought they might be having some luck with it, but it wasn't available for play. The person who was briefly working on it entered a name with '573' (Konami) on the end. But in general, the E-Amuse stuff is still not working.
Played several games of Pop 'n Music, which was 5 songs for 4 credits if you played in Challenge Mode. Which I can't imagine why you wouldn't, as it doesn't make the game any harder despite the name.
Looked like Guitar Freaks and Drum Mania were going to be 6 credits, as was IIDX. Taiko No Tatsujin was 4 credits for 2 songs.
The Pop 'n Music and Taiko No Tatsujin song-per-play rates differed from what was listed at the top of the thread.
I probably won't go back again until E-Amuse is working.
