Someone on Facebook reported about 40 minutes ago that the e-Amuse network is up.  Don't know if that's true or not.  (If it is, I feel kind of dumb for going down this morning instead of waiting until later in the day.)

Not unless they changed it.  I was playing it (Pop 'n Music) this morning in Challenge Mode and it was letting me have 5 songs, even on my first game where I actually failed the first one.  My best total score was less than 150, so it wasn't high enough for what you listed.

idk maybe i got my number wrong??
i know older games like fever would have random certain EX Scores give you the bonus stage as well
i was pretty rusty though lol, maybe i never made it to my 5th stage lol

It was mentioned in comments on Laura's FB that the network problem was that the games were able to connect to the network, but were seeing that they didn't have approval...yet for some strange reason, Konami's side was not seeing the games asking, so they could not grant approval. They were working daily to resolve the situation.

On another note, anyone have any idea if it's possible to purchase e-amuse cards there yet?

Yeah, I've definitely played Pop 'n Music machines that gave an extra stage if you reached a certain number of Challenge Points.

Went down today after work.  The newly playable games were pretty busy until 7:30 or so.  Pop 'n is still 5 songs.  Sound Voltex is 3 for 6 credits.  IIDX is 3 for 6 credits.

The machines were able to read e-amuse cards, as I saw a few people using them, but they had gotten them elsewhere, as an employee I talked to said they don't have them available for sale yet.  The same employee spent a bunch of time playing the new Drum Mania while I was there.

I was just there too. I asked when they expect to sell e-amuse cards; they said 2 weeks.

Spent about 4 hours there tonight.

Jesus Christ I'm bad at IIDX now. Need to grind myself back into. E-Amuse cards can't come quick enough with the limited song selections for the later versions being playable.

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer to play Sound Voltex and have it end with that screen that amounts to, "Hey, you have some points now!  Spend them to unlock stuff!".  No reason to do it, since the machine won't know who you are the next time without an E-amuse card.

Is there a decent guide or introduction anywhere for how to use the Menus/game options for Sound Voltex? : x

The tutorial seems fine for basic gameplay, but everything else is an utter mystery to me.

what do you need to know? The ui is kind of horrible imo, once you play a few games everything starts to make sense. To sort by various categories, hit the left FX button and pick your category. there's some other options and you can turn on SDVX's "Hard Clear" when you hold the two FX buttons (i think, i cant remember exactly) but I haven't messed with those. I know you need to play with "hard clear" (excessive rate, i think its called) to unlock new gravity wars songs. There's also Hi-Speed, which is holding start and turning the left knob while a song is searching for players. Oh, and you move thru the songlist with the right knob and change difficulty with the left knob.

It actually kinda explains most of this during your first credit, but one thing it doesn't mention is how to use the shop. The left one purchases songs, and the right one purchases avatars. I believe they use two different currencies, also. When you select a song to buy, youhave to turn the left knob over to highlight which difficulty/difficulties you want to purchase for a given song.

I actually didn't know this was opening until a couple of weeks ago, and it is 5 minutes from my work!  I went there yesterday and was thrilled to see Gitadora!  I actually went and played today on my lunch break and was confused why Gitadora had so few songs; when I came back at 630 PM it had so many more songs.  I didn't even know e-Amuse existed anywhere outside of Japan; glad I read this thread.

It's been a while since I posted on this board.  I look forward to re-acquainting with some of you now that there is a good Drummania again in the area (without having to go to BC)...

ALSO, I am looking forward to karaokeing...gotta check out the song selection.

I wanna know this too; want to jam on "Depend on Me (long ver.)" over and over again.

They're selectable just like any other song in the game, . . . but only if you select Standard Play at the start of your credit (it also enables ENCORE/PREMIUM ENCORE STAGE and Battle System Mode as well). In Japan, it requires using Konami's e-currency, Paseli, which is tied to your e-amuse card, to be able to select it, although I'm not sure what the situation is like at any of the US Round1 locations since I haven't been to any of them yet.

if its only purchasable in-game with paseli, we cant access it. round 1 US machines have paseli disabled. Its shitty

Friday and Saturday, all day

Does anyone know if the menu timers on gitadora can be increased?

Also the right sound voltex machine froze and restarted after I tapped my eamuse card.
The game also froze a couple times during gameplay. It eventually caught up with the notes and I still passed the song. But maybe the right machine could be checked for dust or whatever could be blocking the CPU.  Thanks.
