Yeah, Sunday evening is when I was there.  Three of them seemed to be working fine, but one of them was trying to download something and not getting very far.

I'm not sure what was up last night, but it seemed like the network was being rather slow from time to time (at least on IIDX and SDVX). I had one instance where it took at least 2 minutes to save the results after my session.

The right IIDX machine seemed to have a key that wasn't triggering occasionally (I failed a song because of that, though it was a 5 on EX HARD on the first stage, so it didn't cut my credit short). It seemed to fix itself shortly after though, so I'm not sure what happened.

Heads up, a new copula news post said there will be new songs added to Mystery Line later today. Though if it requires a machine update, I suspect we might not see them until tomorrow (since I believe the machine must restart for that).

Can anyone confirm; Is the new DDR being tested here?

Round 1 said it would be coming in June, last I heard.

Hi all, apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but I just recently started coming here and love it!
A couple of questions:

Is there a method to do the cool double performances with a friend on Pump it Up: Infinity? I can't seem to find anything but just two players each doing the same steps.

Also, how do you turn on Rhythm Notes on Pump it Up: Prime? I've become addicted to using them on Infinity, but without them on Prime I do much worse.

Thank you all!

Welcome, Linuka!

You're first question is looking for Co-op or "routine" charts. It has been a while since I have played at Round1, so I don't recall the answers to either question, but that's the terminology for those performance types of charts.

co op and routine stuff is selectable in single player mode. it's a little counter intuitive.

there is no "rhythm" note skin in pump it up prime.

Thanks for the quick reply gang!

So in your Pro Pump opinion, should I not use Rhythm Noteskins?

Is there anything else, or any tips I should know for a new player in the ~7/8 difficulty range?

you can use whatever skin you like. i guess it might be easier to switch between games if you stick to a skin that's in both of them but really just use whatever you're comfortable with.

remember that almost every song is designed for you to always alternate your feet. so try not to use one foot to hit two steps in a row. always go left, right, left, right.

Round 1 tweeted about an hour ago that DDR Ace US version will be coming at the beginning of July.

Went to Seattle this weekend and hit up Round 1 and it was fucking great.  Music game paradise compared to Portland.  Museca and SDVX are fun as fuck, really wished DDRA would have been in though, oh well.

Round 1 in Portland, please.

Will be at Round 1 all day Tuesday so hopefully some people can make it out then.

Hopefully PNWBemani gets a bit more active with DDR A coming. I know I haven't been really active for years on this site, but I look forward to seeing old veterans playing DDR A and new blood as well!

The pricing that's listed for DDRA at the Puente Hills location on ZiV is a bit troubling. Seems that one must swipe twice for Premium (which is the only way extra stage can be accessed...which is how the unlocking is done), but the machines there are at 6 credits per swipe.

That seems a little too much to me. Hopefully there's something I'm missing somewhere.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay $3/game just to be able to unlock stuff unless there was something significantly more interesting going on.

Excited for the new machine!  I'm probably not going to make it out today, but will hopefully be there soon.

I might consider finally taking a visit there once I head back home in Portland at the end of the month.

Playing devil's advocate for a little bit here, I imagine the reason for the high prices at the other locations is to cover the costs of importing the game overseas and setting up e-amuse on them. I remember reading somewhere that arcades have to pay Konami a monthly fee in order to keep the network running in the game, and there's no reason to keep the network running if not enough people are playing the game. Same reason why all of the other BEMANI games are $1.50 per credit instead of $1.00.

Still, I hope the price goes down soon so that they are at least comparable to prices in Japan or elsewhere. I suggest something like 1 credit per swipe, 4 swipes gives you Normal Play, and 5 swipes gives you Premium Play. Or, to be consistent with the other games, 6 swipes for Normal Play and 7-8 swipes for Premium Play.

Unlike the other music games at Round1, DDR A is a US version. Otherwise Premium Mode would be inaccessible (it requires PASELI in Japan). So I'd imagine it's not quite as expensive as the others to get set up. Also, I believe the monthly fee is based on machine usage.

I'm personally fine with 6 credits per game, but having to swipe twice just to access some of the extras (which weren't intended to be double cost, IMO) is a bit much for me. Premium wasn't even a thing until DDR 2014 (same as all the other PASELI type changes), and it was mainly added in response to rising Japanese taxes (I think this was said much earlier in the thread, actually), so arcades didn't have to set their machines to cost twice as much to be able to absorb the increase.

On the upside, I'm hearing there are two DDR A cabs installed here (a few other locations only got one).

FYI at Dave and Buster's DDR Ace is intended to be just one swipe for Premium features. Maybe Round One will follow suit...

This has already been done here.

(EDIT) Sounds like the change was just made today.
