I think Groove Coaster is down to 5 credits ($1.25) from the original price of 6 credits, but am not 100% certain.  Will try and remember to check tonight when I go down to stomp arrows.

Before I forget, I just want to quickly post here to say that I'll finally be visiting Round1 for the first time tomorrow. I'm actually heading to Seattle tomorrow because I'll be attending an information session about the MEXT scholarship from 4:30 to 5:30 PM, but I might as well kill two birds with one stone, right? If anyone wants to meet up, feel free to do so; I'll definitely be playing as many BEMANI games as I can while I'm there.

As luck would have it, I'll be back in Seattle on the 12th and 13th as the application process continues. I don't know what times I'll be able to play at Round1 yet (if at all), but let me know if you want to meet up and I'll let you know my schedule as the date draws closer.

Oh, and my first impressions from the last trip: the turntables on the IIDX machines are in pretty bad condition, but at least they work and being able to play a few of the new songs was cool too (I still need more time to adjust to the timing and the arcade setup, though).
Being able to play DDR in an arcade again was cool too. The white machines still feel a little weird to me, and it took me a while to adjust to the timing too, but at least I got 8 new PFCs within a few hours. Here's hoping I get 8 more in the next trip.
I haven't been able to play anything else yet, but I plan to at least try out MUSECA for the first time in the next trip.

I have those two days off, but I wasn't feeling up to making the trip today.

It's okay, I ended up not getting as much play time as I wanted out of this trip anyway. Only 2 new PFCs today, played some IIDX and one credit of PIU Prime 2, but that's about it. At least the turntables have been fixed since the last time I was here.

You are correct, I played it for the first time this past weekend and it is 5 credits for 2 songs. Also you get a free round the first time you use your NESiCA card. I don't know if that's common knowledge, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I also got to play MUSECA 1+1/2 for the first time this past weekend and that was a lot of fun too. I was a little overly cautious since the game seems a bit daunting with all the controls and foot pedal so I played around Level 3 for my first three songs. But then my second round I accidentally picked a Level 8 song due to time running out, but I was still able to pass and get a decent score (the result kanji was '優' whatever that means)!

My only complaint was this weekend the temperature hovered around 94 degrees outside and the AC wasn't on nearly high enough to combat that.  Angry

But man, I so wish the Portland area had a Round1 so I didn't have to drive 3 hours just to play Bemani arcade games... I keep thinking the new Lloyd Center would be a perfect place for one after the renovations. I can dream, can't I?!  Sad

Stopped by here other day for first time in months.  Noticed they had 2 cabs for Crossbeats Rev. Sunrise (Capcom music game) there that I didn't see here previously.  Didn't know anything about this game until I saw these - looks like touch-screen game like DJMax Technika games.  They weren't powered on yet, so I'm guessing still undergoing setup.

I've heard reports on Facebook that those two machines are working now, along with a Project Diva (Hatsune Miku) machine.

The Project Diva machine was not fully up and running when I was there last night (the game was on, but the card reader that you'd swipe your card across to get a credit still said Game Off). One of the Crossbeats machines said the same thing as well.

When I was playing DDR, I felt like I had some issues with the 1P Up occasionally failing to register a step, but I wasn't entirely sure, so I didn't want to bug someone if the real problem was just my lazy foot. The fact that DDR A does not light up the panels when they are being stepped on doesn't really help this either.

I was there at about 9pm last night.  The Crossbeats machine closest to the corner looked like it was working, but the one next to Project Diva had a message on the screen about network issues preventing you from using your IC card to play (I think that's what it said, anyway).  Project Diva was working fine, I played it four or five times (alternating with someone else) until about quarter to eleven.

They don't sell the AIME card at the front desk -- the other guy who was playing the machine had one from Japan, which worked fine.  But the BanaPass (that white Bandai card) also worked fine.  There were stickers on all three of those machines saying that the BanaPass would work, and the front desk sold me one for $7.  Was able to register it via my cell phone, though I don't know if you have to do that to start using it or not.  It seemed to work fine.  Wonder if the BanaPass will work on Project Diva machines in Japan?

Didn't try Crossbeats.  Though there was a splash screen that sounded like it said something about being allowed to play free one time a month if you were using your IC card.

I overestimated my own abilities and failed the second song of a three song Diva game -- unlike some other music games, this did not end my game.  It just sort of acted like, "Well, that's too bad that you failed this song, but you still have a third song to go!" and moved on to letting me pick a third song.  It did autofail out of the middle of the failed song, though.  So I guess it works like Premium Play on DDR A in that regard.  3 songs for 6 credits.

I strongly advise bringing earbuds or headphones.  Diva is pretty hard to hear over the surrounding machines, especially when Museca is in use.

For new Project Diva players, be advised that there is an important difference between playing a Hard difficulty song and an Extreme difficulty song of the same rating -- the Extreme song will require 70% to pass, but the Hard song only requires 60%.  Beware.

Round1 has rearranged a large portion of the machines. All of the fighting games (or at least I think all of them, never paid too much attention to that section) have gone over to the front near the employee door, and the music games that were there are all now in the back of the arcade where the fighting games used to be. A number of other games have been shuffled around as well. The Groove Coasters will probably be the first thing someone sees, and the IIDX machines are right on the other side of them (and they've swapped the order of them again, the one that was on the left in the old spot is now on the right).

Interestingly enough, the music game area seemed to have a lot of traffic when I was there today, which isn't usually the case. Maybe the new positioning will give them more exposure?

Round1 posted on their FB that DanceEvolution has been installed.

Also, last time I was there (last Sunday), the 1P turntable was missing off one of the machines, but when I asked about it, I was told that one of the techs had removed it temporarily to fix the fact that the layer on the top was coming up. So I think it SHOULD be back in place by now. But that was a nasty surprise, given that I failed to notice it before I got to the song selection screen.

Is there Tekken 7 Fated Retribution here or still just Tekken 7.0?

From the looks of it, it's still just the original (with a 2015 copyright date). But I'm not a Tekken person, so I don't know exactly what to look for.

Yeah, the Round 1 machines are regular Tekken 7. I'm not sure there's anywhere in the US that even has Fated Retribution cabinets, all the Round 1's that have them are original T7. Kinda pointless now with console T7 being out with all the Fated Retribution changes and additional characters, but...

A second DDR A cab has reappeared.

I think the reason it disappeared before was due to supply issues. I've heard that Konami was being really stupid about distrbution in the US (could only be ordered in bulk). I saw at least one post on ZiV saying that a number of R1 locations (newer ones mainly) did not have it. But now Uniana has taken over distribution, so more cabs are starting to appear. Hopefully this means locations other than R1 and D&B can get their hands on it.

I stopped by on the way back from Vancouver on Sunday.  Didn't have time to play much else besides DDRA, Prime2, and a single song of Project Diva.  Two DDRA's is nice.  The Prime2 is in pretty terrible condition, the P1 side has a fucked up down-right and center arrow and P2 has a flaky down-left.  It was kind of shitty that Project Diva only gives you one song, felt like a waste of money considering it's a PS4 game with fancy buttons in a cabinet.

One note on the upcoming release of IIDX CANNON BALLERS, there's a hardware upgrade involved this time. Given that the release date is the 21st, I'd be surprised if we see it here before the new year (based on the fact that the copula update last year took around two weeks to appear).

I visited here last Saturday, and HOLY COW there are a lot of people playing the rhythm games! Lots of people I have never seen, many of which were really decent at the games and enjoying them. I did bump into Keby and Tuan's cousin (who I met then) so that was neat.

Granted, I haven't visited many arcades in the past 2 years due to being a father, but still; tons of people!

This site says that CANNON BALLERS is up and running here. (Put ROUND1 SCM into the first box) Not sure where the site gets its information though. When I was there last Saturday, it was still running SINOBUZ.

Yeah, sometimes the music games at Round 1 can be pretty busy.  I was there on Friday night, and by the time 6:30 or 7:00 rolled around, most of the games I had any interest in playing were seeing regular use.  (IIDX, Sound Voltex, Gitadora, Project Diva, and even Museca.)

Popped in tonight and the IIDX machines have indeed been upgraded. However, the one on the right was running an old version for some reason (the date code said 20171227). Until it's able to actually update itself, it won't be able to do the currently running event (which requires 20180123). Confused me for a bit before I checked the version number. But it was still able to retrieve and save score data.

Also, the DDR machines were stuck in an offline state, with CHECKING... appearing where ONLINE would normally be. They were still playable (though the one on the right got stuck after a round while I was over there). I'd heard that they had been stuck offline for the past week or so.

The Museca cabs have had the offline kit installed, and apparently been set to local mode. Granted, the online service for that is going to go poof in just under 2 weeks...

RIP Museca.  I enjoyed it but I guess it just wasn't enough.
