X2 is a new cabinet, not an upgrade. It's a pretty awesome mix IMO, though there is a very slight timing difference because of the HD monitor. But at least it's a universal difference that you can easily adjust to, and not some random crap caused by the pad and or the game itself.

This.  Timing doesn't feel *perfect*, but it's a universal offset that you can very easily get used to.  I sightread a couple of "AAAs" and I'm not very good, so this should say something.

I'll have to make the trip again some weekend soon and drag at least BBH along.  I mainly want to play DJ Max Technika finally, but X2 is a nice bonus.

Shame my copy of the DJ Max 3 LE wasn't one of the winners that came with a free Platinum Crew Card.  Nothing else in the LE was really that worth while, including the game itself <_<

Schlagwerk, I'll take the game off your hands for cheap if you really don't like it.

Sad news. I went to Gameworks today and the 30 minute time cards don't work on Technika 2. I assume this means that ALL time cards don't work. This is only my assumption, but it's probably because some people I saw would get there at 11am and put 30+ credits into the machine while they had the card(s), then would use it throughout the rest of the day. Lets hope that this is only temporary until the WTF deal is over on April 1st. Otherwise, at $2 per game, I don't see myself playing much Technika until the price drops a bit.

I may have missed the memo, but Thursdays are a BAD day to go. The entire place was crowded tonight. I walked upstairs and all the way downstairs. The only open games were the old classic arcade games and the horse racing game. Everything else had at least 1 person at each machine for a good hour. It was ridiculous!

That's 'cause it is unlimited play for $10. If you go after 9pm (I think) they kick minors out, which undoubtedly would free up some spots. Also, I got there at 7pm and it wasn't that bad at all. Granted, it quickly got busy, but I hoped onto X2 and more-or-less got to keep playing almost until I left ~9pm.

Suko, I got there right after you left, 9:45ish... the place was very busy till close.
I didn't realize THAT many people did the $10 deal.

And to update about Technika, no time card will work with it. It's all points for the time being. Also, I didn't know this until I saw it from Bemanistyle is that Gameworks is testing Technika in our location first, to determine if they want it in their other markets.

A shame that people had to go and do bullshit like abusing the time cards. Probably won't look great to the company if they don't make any money on it...then again, at $2 a game, what do they expect? That's f*cking steep!

Technika 2 has been reduced to 4 points per game. Yay for reasonable economic expectations!

Now they should do the same for X2.

Yeah I didn't get a chance to play Technika 2 at Gameworks in Seattle but I did get a chance to play it at Gemini Arcade Palace when I was in Vegas. I noticed that Seattle's GW is so much more interesting than the one in Vegas. Didn't the Vegas one have a virtual reality Tekken type game YEEEEEARS ago?

Also DDR X2 was amazing, but I only had two rounds out of it and a round on SuperNOVA 2 before I had to catch my flight. How are the pads nowadays? Any change? I was wondering because Round 1's equipment is doing bad as I hear on Zenius.

Yeah, I was about to comment on being in Vegas last week and seeing Technika at Gemini as well.

And it was 75 cents.

I just got done unlocking X2 at Gameworks. I think Fire Fire and Dummy are my top two new favorites.

Edit:
The Left and Up arrow on the 1P side were not working too great. I told the tech about it, so lets hope it gets fixed at some point in the next few weeks.

Went to gameworks today and am about to leave, the pads werent bad as I feared but not as good as I hoped. 3 word evaluation for ddrx2: Fudge the announcer.

The announcer is one of the best parts of X/X2.  It's like a minigame where you try to see how many racial stereotypes he goes through in a single song

tried x2 out after we left sakuracon on sunday... the pad needs improvement, but it's way better than x1's pad...nearly failed gold rush because of "TWO DEE ECKS GORUDU!" dam dariram revival is kickass.

if only they could import the japanese x2's pads...

Gonna be in Seattle tomorrow and I believe that the hotel is on the same block as Gameworks, so I'll leave feedback here afterwards.

Edit: DDR X2 was unplayable. DDR X was okay, but the bottom arrow on the right side had a dent that threw me off. DJ Max Technika was awesome and addicting. Pop'n Music was fun since I was a first timer, but the middle button had issues with sticking.

My Mom and I had an awesome time with the Initial D motion simulators and my Dad beat me at that really cool air hockey table.
