But you can't play Technika when you're using a timecard...

A bit late and any regulars probably already know, but timecards are enabled on T3 once again. Just don't abuse it~

Was there for about an hour.  dm wasnt terrivle but it needs work and the monitor is pretty dark, popn has a similar monitor problem and the sound is loud and sounds terrible, technika was pretty awesome, taiko 2p side right red is not responsive at all but was still fun, dmx was also awesome.   i played x2 and i really dont know what to say about it.  the pads feel like shitty home pads and the bar is terrible but my timing was way better than normal :?

Went on Friday. 1P side of Extreme is good, 2P side of SN is good, and SN2 is good for both sides =).

GF is no longer fucked up. Well, at least the player 1 side. They are also willing to turn the volume up if you ask. Yay!

DM cymbal is still weak, and the drum throne is wobbly. Bring a magazine or something to level it out. Otherwise it plays fine. I FC'd some hard things, it seems okay.

Pop'n plays well. Volume is nice and loud.

Taiko is giga-fucked, don't bother.

DMX left lower sensor is constantly firing. It's okay if you play center, but doubles is probably out of the question. Sad

Eric (EPS21) and I are heading down to California next week to represent Seattle at Best of the West, the largest music game tournament in this area of the country in this millennium! Big ups to GW for fixing GF after I bugged them about it for literally two years!

I can only think that their tournament will be a nightmare to pull off.
3 days, and all those machine types for tournaments? Someone must like chaos! Shocked

Oh yeah, it's gonna be a total mess. I'm looking forward to it! Tongue You didn't even mention the fact that SVGL is nowhere near large enough to fit the "Going" list, let alone the "Going" list and half of the "Maybe" list! That alone should be a trainwreck!

X2's pads are in great condition, if anyone cares. I went the last couple days and had a blast. Grin

From what I've heard, what they did was put in a different kind of sensor, more like a microswitch. Very responsive and should last a long time!

I went to GameWorks today for a few hours.  Had no problem at all with the panels on the X2 machine, including a few games of Double.

EDIT:
DDR X2 was 3 songs
Technika was 3 songs
Pop 'n Music was 4 songs in Challenge Mode

looks like Taiko had some repairs done to it and is now set to three songs per play.

X2 P1 is rly good

X2 has a cracked down arrow on the P1 side. P2 is weak overall, especially right and down. Flat footing is not feasible.

SN2 is still very good. Didn't try P2, but had no issues with P1.

Stopped by Gameworks last night and had a good time. I also updated Z-i-V's database with pricing info for most of the music games.

1 GW Credit is still on par with $0.25, right? (Not counting buying discounted $50 point cards where you get extra credits.)  If so, the base price on the games really seems to have gone up in the past year (or I just haven't been there in a while).  It's around $2 for most of the DDR games now.

Buy a $25 card + $2 upgrade, which gives you 190 points, or about $0.14 a credit. SN2 is 7 points and X2 is 9 points, which works out to $1 and $1.28 per game, respectively. You also get VIP status after you've added 2000 points to a card, which reduces the point cost of all games by 10%.

The $50 and $100 cards are a marginally better value, but it's pretty hard to spend 200 points in one session unless you're playing ticket games.

Also, if you have an existing card, sign up for Gameworks' reward program on their website. They'll e-mail coupons for free time cards and discounts on point card purchases each month. They'll also replace your card and restore your balance, if you lose it.

But without the bonus rates, 1 credit = $0.25, right?

How should the prices in Z-i-V's database be updated then? Price walking in an paying, or the discounted price which can vary depending on how much you pay for in advance?

Obviously, ZIV should have the option to put tokens/credits/or cash down as cost. This not being currently available, I would put the most expensive price, because only a regular attendee would know or take advantage of the discount pricing and they would likely already know the cost of the games.

Alan at Z-i-V just implemented variable pricing, so the prices in the first post now show the low price (from a high point card) to a high price (from buying a low point card).

The "DDR Room" is no more. They've moved the DDR machines out to the main area where some of them used to be, and where a few racing games were. The DDRSN2 is right below the sound system, but it is set loud enough to where you can still play it (if it's not loud, ask for it to be louder again).  The Extreme machine is still crappy, so don't bother.

Hey new to the Seattle area would love to go with and meet up with some people if possible.  Played mostly supernova and extreme back home, but I'm ok.  Took a long break about two years and wanna get back into it.  Rivalry always helpful!!
