Woo, DOUBLE PRICE!

Yes, Gameworks has officially discontinued their Happy Hour program, as well as stopped selling all time cards. I went back yesterday, and there was nobody playing SN (there are usually ~6 people there), and one person playing Maximum Tune 2. (usually ~8)

So... yeah. I hope they enjoy not making any money on weekdays anymore, because I'm sure as hell not going anymore.

Anyone want to buy a 320 point card ($32 value) VIP card for... $15 or something?

Not only is Gameworks a ripoff, but it's overcrowded and undermaintainanced.

Seriously, I don't know why anyone ever went there.

I've never payed for myself there, I only go if someone else pays.

Because it isn't a franchise catered towards teenage gamers in the first place.

i was there tonight...they ordered a crapload of new machines:

pop'n music (fever)
dance maniax 1st mix
gitadora 11/10
taiko ver.9

they're renovating the front for a new bar that's supposed to be done on 7/31, so you'll have to use the side entrance.

I'm almost certain that whoever told you this is lying.

I've actually talked with the manager about getting certain games, and pricing/maintenance, and he said that Gameworks has some kind of business plan to where they buy the same number of each game and have the same price for every location. I really doubt they'd invest enough in music games like that because: 1) They don't care about their customers. 2) $$$$ HOOLYCRAP.

pics plz or it never happened

Seriously, I won't believe this unless I see pictures.  And since when do people call GF/DM "gitadora"?

1. i thought they didn't care about anything except getting money either.
2. i sincerely think they used less than legal tactics to get those machines.

btw, some japanese sites call it gitadora too...and i'll get pics next time i go up...should've used my camera phone, eh.

Yeah, a lot of japanese sites and even Konami often refer to GFDM as gitadora.

Ok guys, I called to confirm this, and here's the skinny:

This is true. They did get all of the games that I AM ERROR claimed, and they are currently set up for display. However, none of the games are hooked up to their card system yet, so they may not actually be running until tomorrow.

Nonetheless, GF/DM and Pop'n Fever? Awesome!

they set up pop'n and dance maniax next to the initial d machines.

the gitadora setup is on the second floor next to the outrun 2 machines, if they're smart (LOL), session mode should've been set up.

taiko's right outside of the extreme/usa room.

pricing per game will need to be confirmed, although it wouldn't surprise me if they average about 15 points per game.

and didn't post about it because i assumed it was a normal reaction

haha, cool deal though, now davyn won't drive with me all the way to canada because he wants fever more than distorted

Yeah, if someone could check it out tomorrow and take some pics or something, that'd be sweet.  I'm interested in hearing about what else they got too.  I'll probably check this out next saturday.

omfg

Am I hallucinating?

Dammit though, I have two midterms in the next two days.  I'll probably be going Monday after class though... and probably Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday, and maybe the next day, and the day after that...

Class in July? Am I missing something?

Anyways, I'm not OMG EXCITE!!! about this, BUT it's a reason to grace my presence in GW again. I didn't go there for a good year because frankly, GW was sucking.

ut now, next time I'm in Seattle, I'm definitely Pop'n in for a few games

It's called summer quarter.  I'll probably be going back home, to rest from waking up at 8:30.  Then to GW. Smiley
