Thanks for the reminder, Zecro. Smiley I've updated the original listing.

Are they just storing the machines until then? Or does anyone know if they've relocated them somewhere else / somewhere else on campus?

The new HUB no longer has DDR. A single tear was shed.

The whole arcade is gone. It's been replaced by a console freeplay setup thing. I might swing by tomorrow and ask if there are plans to bring any coin op games back in the future, but I seriously doubt it. Sucks for me, I live right next to the HUB! First PG's arcade closes, then I move 4 blocks away from PG, then the HUB arcade doesn't return from its closure! I tell ya...

Wow, the exact same thing happened to the Union Building at WSU a few years back. Coin Op arcades just can get a break.

Same kind of thing happened years ago to the student union building up at UBC (University of British Columbia).  Used to be a nice place to hit up for music games.  Then they remodelled things, and the next time I went there it was mostly PCs, with the music games all gone.  Sad.

Down here Tacompton ways, we used to have an arcade at TCC as well as PLU colleges.  We ended up having to remove them years back, as video game popularity waned.  Collections dived by the about 2005.  We had no choice but to discontinue providing the games.  sad indeed.  Not many spots are able to carry their weight anymore.  :-(
