- ORIGINAL POST -
Although having a "New BBS celebration" BYOB seems like an awesome idea, those require a little bit more planning than a casual meetup, so I propose that in an effort to all get together and party sooner than if we planned a BYOB, we schedule a casual meetup during which we go to ACME, and then around nine or ten head over to Denny's for some food and Apples to Apples.
I am leaving the date as a couple of question marks because personally, all of my Fridays and Saturdays are spent at ACME around these times anyway-- I have a stressful week, and this is my way of unwinding. The thing is, in order for this to be truly celebratory, I'd like to have a *lot* of you guys there for this... that said, I want to know when you guys are free from about 6 pm to midnight. I've been told that Saturdays are a lot better than Fridays as far as there not being a lot of random people there, so probably a Saturday? Post your ideal date here.
As a sidenote, if anyone feels spontaneous, I could bring A2A tonight as well, and we could go steal a booth and get some nachos and have a short game.
EDIT: It looks like popular opinion has agreed on the third, so I'm setting this as the date.
EDIT 2: In an effort to make this game more fun for everyone, I've added a list of ways to make Apples to Apples more fun for everyone involved to Serious Business-- it's just not as awesome of a game if everyone is crappy at playing it.

Hi alpha
i live in west of southcenter... probably no more than a 10minute drive (i walk to the mall in less than an hour)
and thanks if you can
10 min to the west isn't so bad I suppose. At this point, I will say "yes" I will drive you back.
EDIT: And while we know what time we're transferring from ACME to Denny's, we still don't know when this shendig goes off. 6?

People will probably be getting to Acme from 6-7ish... so transfer within there I'd say.
Then we hang till the Denny's move.

Something to discuss at your event regarding building up the Bemani community. Why not make up a cool flier, photocopy it, and tape them to the side of every Bemani game. Give me some extra copies, and I will make sure they go up on all the Bemani we have routewide. I see a lot of good players that know nothing of the community. Could get tons of new people coming here to check out this cool ass community. I remember DDR Freak signs promoted a lot of interest years ago when they were on all the machines.

Agreed. I remember some of those in the old days, too, on the machines at Narrows. Spreading them far and wide would help even more. If you think about it, not a lot of us have been getting the word out that there is a community. This may be quite a bit easier to do now though, since many of us feel so much more comfortable telling people about this board than just a subforum of ITGFreak.

cool ass community
I don't want to sound like I'm being a suck up, but to be honest, a big part of this community's kickassness is you, Bill. You are by far the best arcade owner in WA, and always help us and maintain the machines.
Thanks!

Day after day, I hear of other US Dance Game players having pads with bad sensors, and I thank the lord that we have Bill.

This was definitely a plan, they just haven't been made yet. I might work on one tonight though. We'll definitely make sure you get some to put up too! That would be awesome.
Poster topic created btw.

I might not make it... Playing ITG while still a little sick only made it worse. Bad idea.
EDIT: Still pretty sick (coughing up mucous is never a good sign), and really don't know if going would be a good idea. ITG, DM, and even air hockey are all a bit physically straining to an extent, and last night I found out what happens when you overstrain yourself when you're sick. If I don't make it, I guess I'll see you all at the next BYOB/community event.

Fliers sounds like a cool idea =D I shall head to that topic shortly.
As for starting at 7, that sounds alright; I may be a smidgen late (but then noone really knows me anyhow so it won't be too noticed). Anyhow see you guys tonight.

Your custom title is forthcoming, CS.
I met and re/met several; very nice. DJ twas a pleasure to see you again =D and that version of Mafia was a blast!
To all those who said I did something that gave away that I was a lawyer but can't recount the specifics (wish I really knew the specifics) all I can say is Valerie and I still won so it must not have been enough of a give away! Ha! =D
After I dropped Zach off I went back to ACME and rocked out on some good ol' Drummania8th. Kudos to a good night, peeps!

The specifics = After playing the first game practically saying nothing you started the conversation on one of the rounds of the second game. Pretty obvious.
I did catch on to Val but no one else did.... blah.

Well I know THOSE specifics, I just mean I was wondering who I accused when I did that.
Cuz I seriously can't remember.
Also, it could be argued that I didn't say anything the first game cuz I'd never played the game before. =O Maybe I just wanted to test my argumentative mettle?
Wait, I should be saving all this for the actual forum game coming up =P

I knew it was Val. For the entire game. Since DJ had to tell me. Then everyone killed me. In the first round.

Val and I didn't know you knew so quickly, but at the beginning it seemed everyone was focusing on you so I figured, heck, why not? After you were down Val suggested someone else that seemed keen on her and I agreed. So nothing personal against you ancsik (btw you're the guy whose first name starts with a T right?), I was just encouraging the mob so to speak =O

Yeah, ancsik is Tony.
And Tony, I voted for Val, not you... so not
everyone
voted for you.
