Are there any IIDX machines in the area?  With the crazy amount of Pop n' Machines I've seen, I figured it was worth a shot  Tongue

Nah, not anymore.  I think theres like 1 beatmania machine in the state, and its a 4th mix.  We used to have a iidx 8th and bm iii 7th mix between Acme and Narrows.  I personally owned a BM 6th mix/Complete Mix 2 as well, but recently sold it.

And Funtasia in Edmonds had a BM 6th Mix Underground but it left right before the other two.

I am so glad you responded to this topic.  Thanks for taking the time and effort to say absolutely nothing of value.

On the east coast, there is at least one IIDX machine that I know of, and it's quite popular.  I know quite a few people with home controllers, including myself, so once you find a community, anything can thrive.  And considering the dedication of people around here to video games and the asian population, I don't think that would be an issue.

Pop N' will be around for awhile, and if not, I still have my home controller for that too =p

kthx!

Homeversion IIDX is better than arcade IIDX anyway.  Dance games and even sort of Pop'n have a social aspect to them, but IIDX is just a button-smasher with a sharp learning curve.

Also, mongolia has a high asian population and no IIDX machines as well.  Why?  'cause they're mongolian, not Japanese.  The PNW has a lot of Asians, but they're all Chinese and Korean and Cambodian and Vietnamese and shit.  I know one full-blood Japanese dude and he plays tennis.

dance games are hard to duplicate at home so i go to the arcade for those. iidx i can play at home and save money. not like there's a iidx machine here anymore anyways

i can sorta understand why people who have iidx at home play at the arcade anyways. the buttons at the arcade feel way better than the ones on your common home controller. if youre really picky you can duplicate the exact feel of arcade iidx itll just be really fuckin expensive
