Thank Bill when you get a chance- if you can find time during your day of complaining about machine status and upgrades.

I assume the new machine will have a working hi-hat.
Can anyone confirm that Acme has GF11/DM10 up and running now?  Don't mean to be pushy, just want to know if I should aim my car north or south tonight.

11/10 is up and running, DM is in great condition except the bass which ghost-fires when held down.  Also, the coin acceptor isn't working properly (or possibly at all; hitting was making it go when a coin didn't register, but then I noticed hitting it was still adding if you just kept going).  Volume needs rebalanced; the drum volume is a bit high given the song volume (some songs come out fine, others sound like little more than a 2 minute drum solo).  Didn't play GF.

EDIT: I played on my way back from work; going back tonight.

Yeah, I saw ya I believe James.  That was me there.
Anyhow, one dude (I always forget his name) was able to get the GF going once.

A rundown of problems:

Both guitar freaks and drummanias coin slots are not working, as in they either eat coins (I lost 25 cents but no big deal) or don't register the coin and just dump it right back out into the change tray.
Sound on both machines is way out of whack.  When playing GuitarFreaks, you can only hear the guitar (at top volume); you cannot hear the song.  I didn't get to touch Drummania cuz my credits wouldn't register; however we can go off Tony's observations and assume the worst.

Also, unrelated:
The Time Crisis 4, what difficulty is it on?  It just seems really tough (either that or the machine I played in Japan was really easy).  My housemate and I want to beat it, but at a $1 a pop and dying in the Prologue stage, man...it just isn't worth it.

So ACME was kind of a dry-run, I was a bit disappointed =/

Time Crisis:  At the factory difficulty it has always been at.  Others please chime in, is that setting too difficult in America?

Did anyone call in the coin up issues on the DM and GF?  In case not, I just phoned our service dept.  Will also attempt some sound balancing.  Also, the top speaker on the right GF speaker is shot, new one on the way.  Is the music missing moreso when playing the right side player 2 guitar versus the player one left side?  Input appreciated.

Anyone in to the Maximum Tune series of driving games?  If so, Washingtons first pair has been up and running at Narrows.  Second pair will arrive at Paradise next week.  Older version 1 Maxi Tunes coming to Acme next week.

time crisis's guns need to be recalibrated...both guns were shooting way off target...

EDIT: session mode is set up.

also, don't put quarters in the left coin slot on dm.

For TC4, I just always feel like I'm getting my ass kicked and I can't enjoy the game, but maybe I just suck.  And I agree the guns need to be recalibrated; they are both off target.  Also, the guns don't recoil; but maybe that's not worth fixing because someone might just break them again.  Thanks for looking into this Bill.

And yes, I called the coin slot and volume issues in as soon as I found them out.  I don't know about the player 2 guitar unfortunately, I only was able to get one game to start, and that one I only experienced the player1 side.

If the recoil is the part that makes the guns annoyingly loud, please DON'T fix them.  Tongue

Looking forward to trying out the new machines though.

I think Time Crisis w/o recoil is robbing the game of one of its coolest parts... =/

Say, if only these machines were at Acme! Though if I recall, didn't you say that Acme was going to get Initial D version 4 soon?

Also, is there any chance of IIDX being moved back to Acme ever?

Yes, I see someone did call and they are taking coins last night.  But is DM and GF sessioning properly?

Yes, Initial D 4 will be at Acme.  Early September by the looks of it.

Will calibrate the TC guns, thanks for the info.

GF :  Left coin slot is still not working - right side seems fine.  Sound is still extremely off balance - guitar sound is very loud and songs are almost inaudible.  This was playing on the left side with the working speaker.

DM : Sound is still off balance.  Drum sounds loud and songs very soft, similar to the issue with GF.  Bass pedal needs repair as well - ghost-hits or misses a lot.

This was as of 6pm today (Saturday).

The hi-hat is completely unresponsive as of about 4 this afternoon.  I couldn't get out of basic difficulty no matter how hard I tried.

pop'n wasn't there yesterday.  I'm sure Bill would post the day it goes in.  If not, someone will post about it.  I work extremely close by, I'll stop by every couple days like I've been doing, just in case.  (Sidenote: Playing 60+'s on DM while wearing a Dell Print Services shirt gets some funny looks)

Pop N new hardware system is here and installed.  The game should be there by Friday.  How are the sounds balanced now on DM and GF?

Bill, stopped by ACME.
Anyhow, thanks so much for your efforts on this.  The situation has definitely improved, but there are still some things to take a look at.
Drummania10th mix
Left coin slot still occasionally eats coins.  I lost 50cents from this.  Right slot seems to work fine.
Snare drum is loose a little bit?  I could move it around in the stand.  Maybe we could tighten it up or something?  Also, the hi-hat and cymbal both are really hard and don't give as much bounceback as the ones at Narrows.  Well this is probably just a personal gripe there.
Sound is so-so.  Background music can be heard, but could be louder.  I also think the SFX should be turned up.

Guitarfreaks 11th mix
Left/1P guitar
The green tether is too short.  This forces you to play the guitar almost right up to the screen.  You can't pull away to the left because the bar from the Police 911 2 machine is in the way.  In short the 1P side is uncomfortable and claustrophobic.
Also, the sound balance is still way off.  The left side SFX is blaring, and the background noise is so faint unless you know the song you won't really be able to distinguish it.

Right side/2P guitar
The green tether is still a little short in my mind.  Main problem here is the sound.  The right speaker seems muted, maybe it is broken?  You can barely hear the 2P side notes, so you can barely hear the BG noise as well.

Coin slots for both seemed to be functioning properly.

Thanks again for your efforts Bill,  I called in all of the above issues this evening, as well.
Best,
Chris

EDIT: I didn't get to test the SESSION play, but I highly encourage that someone does so that we don't end up with a super session where all the volume is either in the drums or in the guitar and there is no BG music at all.  I've seen this before, and it sucks.

Yes, will be in the bacl corner where your favorite Stock Car Challenge is presently.  Also, check out the DM and GF again.  Worked on them for hours today.  Chris, thanks for the phone call and great details.
