Thank Bill when you get a chance- if you can find time during your day of complaining about machine status and upgrades.

My pleasure, Bill.
I will try to stop by tomorrow after work and test the recent configurations out. Thank you so much for all your work on this. Rest assured, I will repay you with slightly more frequent arcade attendance!

I stopped by after work yesterday and saw Bill finishing up with GFDM. Volume's rebalanced on both machines, the right speaker on GF has been replaced, the dead hi hat and slightly weak snare have been restored to perfect condition (I tap lightly to cycle difficulties as a hi hat test every time I play, normally even Bill's machines take me 5 hits to get to extreme, it only took 4 right after they got done), and the bass is not longer ghosting. Session untested because nobody's at Acme when I stop by on days that I get off an hour or two early (I got there around 3:00). The cables and stool chain are still too short, but I pointed them out as Bill was leaving and Alpha's already posted about it, so we might be seeing some changes relatively soon.
If Pop'n's going in before 3:00 on Friday, I'll stop by and test it out since I almost always get off between 12:30 and 2:30 on Fridays.

Bill,
Stopped by ACME after an incredibly stressful day at work today. The well-working GF11/DM10 hit the spot!
I'll be by again tomorrow (Friday) with housemate in tow~
Best,
Chris

I just got back from a trip out, stopped by Acme. GFDM are working great, and the new Pop'n Carnival machine is pretty awesome. The volume is really good, too. Props to Bill and his techs!

Glad everything is working out. As for the Pop N screen, honestly, "hell if I know". Never seen a Pop N 13 before. But the techs said they tweaked that monitor before if went out. Enjoy!

i think that was only when it was connected to eamuse, while fever has all of 1st avenue all the time. which is shitty because 2nd ave has motherfuckin Old "O" and nothing else does.
anyway i'm hoping i can get some time in on this tomorrow afternoon.

Hooray, I might go down there today to check it out.
I thought it was going to be 14 though, so now I need to look at the 13 songlist for songs that I want to try, haha. I'll just have to go to GW every now and then to see if I can pass that silly "37" progressive baroque hyper. anthem trance (35) is much harder
I read through the thread for no reason at all and learned that tada's negativity towards acme and positive attitude towards GW both started at the instant bill said he was acme banned. I actually thought that was funny (and only noticed it because his posts earlier in the thread all were something like "if acme got popn, screw GW")
ubertreffen? Put it on random and it is really easy

Snare on the DM seemed a bit unresponsive, Pop'n was a tad bit too loud, imo - there were plenty of people in the arcade, but as most don't go to the back corner, there isn't a whole lot to counter the pop'n. Although, not quite as loud as the IIDX was at times.
Oh, and pop'n 5th mix was pretty fun too.

pants> i like playing popn w/o random. i passed scrotum though (well, 27 bads, clear on extra gauge... I think 27 would be a pass)
Bill> The pop'n screen like someone said seems a bit yellow, but I don't know if there's much you can do about that. Also, I managed to have the 7 button (right green) stick briefly, but I didn't think it was a chronic problem so I didn't call it in. Maybe just something to keep on the checklist for the next routine checkup.

Thanks for the info. As for the buttons on Pop N, they will occasionaly stick due to their design. A cure? Carry a bottle of windex in your car. When a button is sticky, squirt just a little windex around the edges of the button. It will actually serve as a lubricant for awhile and the buttons will work great. Something with an oil base would be even better, but that would attract and hold on to dirt and grime, worsening the issue over time. Arcade secrets 101 class now over. :-)

Good tip. I probably wouldn't have thought that would work, since Windex usually is used to make DDR/PIU pads non-slippery. Now that I know it does work, though, I'll try it out next time I have a problem.

Initial D 2 kept starting automatically with no credits and start button doesn't seem to be sticking so it's probably an internal problem

got to play pop'n for a while today. machine is really nice and the buttons feel really good. volume is also very nice and loud. the monitor does seem to hvae too much yellow, perhaps just increasing the contrast a tad would help. can the timer be increased any more? it feels really short right now. i may be the only one, but that back corner feels really weird. it's really hot and feels kind of claustrophobic to me. i even hit my elbows against the wall a couple times. but if it's the trade off for high volume then i can live with it. maybe when some other new games come in it can be repositioned back there to have a little space around it. right now it's hard to watch others play and battle mode is really cramped. but those are all minor gripes really. thank you so much for getting this machine here and i hope we can get upgrades some day too.
:D
i also like the pop'n 5 banner

So yeah, 7 (and only 7) stuck on me several more times so next time I'll be sure to bring some windex :O
Need to call in: ITG's 1p up arrow is weak? weird in general? It doesn't feel right to me whatever it is.

I didn't call this in yet:
Time Crisis 4; right/2P side coin slot will not accept credits, so you can only play 1P side.
Also, the difficulty is still too high. Maybe I suck at shootan gaems, but I have to say the diff. level on 4 seems so much higher than the previous ones in the series. And at $1 a pop I can't really get past the 2nd area of the 1st stage on one credit...my friend and I who usually play/beat all the other shooters you have just get discouraged and disinterested too quickly; the diff level is so high as to be unfun.
Any action you can take to lower the difficulty would be nice.
Oh, but the gun calibration is good now, so thanks for that. Still wish they recoiled, though.

I noticed that TC4 was way harder than the previous games in the series as well. I can pretty much consistently 1CC 2 and 3, but that seems more or less impossible with TC4. I'm not sure if it's the difficulty settings, maybe the game has just gotten harder. I still enjoy it, though, but I can't see myself 1CCing it for a while.

I don't know, I guess I'm not used to spending more than $1 for a minute's worth of play time =P playing bemani has led me to balk at more then $.75 for 7 minutes or so of play time.
And TC4, if it is indeed on the default difficulty, is much harder than the previous iterations of the series; but I just wondered as to Bill's settings because I know when I played it in Japan I was able to beat it on around 6 credits (~$6). And if Japan had it set to such a difficulty level..
Well, TC1 and TC2 are still my faves.

Even after you've been in Japan longer than I have, where almost everything costs 100 yen or more to play?
