Hate to break it to you, but Dancing All Alone isn't on 4th Plus (it is on the 4th Mix PSX version as a preview, but didn't appear in the arcade until 5th). Tongue

Hmmm. You may be right. I could've sworn I remember playing the crap out of it on the 4th PLUS @ home in Fresno. But perhaps I'm mistaken. Oh well, I'll replace my enthusiasm with one of the songs by Eroitc then.

So is 4th+ on some weird Doubles Premium?

I put in my credit, and was able to choose doubles, but only got 1 song! o.0

Thats just how 4th+ works, you can do versus mode on one credit also but you only get one song.  Every 4th mix machine I've played on was like that.  Not really worth it right?  1 song for $.75 versus 3 songs for $1.50?

I believe it's a setting you can adjust within the machine. I know the 4th+ I play in Fresno has double premium enabled and I can play 3 sets on single or doubles for the same amount of money.

Erm, I meant it was how it worked by default.  As far as I've seen, that feature has never been *disabled* on any of the machines.  You're always able to do doubles or versus on one credit, just for reduced songs, unless joint premium is turned on.

There's a Joint Premium option that exists on all versions which puts Single, Versus and Double all at the same price. But nothing Extreme and below has an option for Double Premium from what I remember. 4th+ and before did allow the whole play 1 song on versus/double for 1 credit (I thought it ended at 3rd, but apparently not. I know 5th doesn't allow it).

Yeah, I believe 4th+ still has the 3songs singles / 1song doubles enabled by default.

Just played 4th + yesterday. I thought that I wanted that machine to be an Extreme, but now I know how very wrong I was. 4th + is still one of the best mixes ever made, even with a crappy frame rate and no speed mods.

Also, why hasn't anybody with audio mixing skills made the song "The 1, 2, 3, 4, 007 Jump" yet? :O

Right? Extreme is still one of my favorite mixes, but when I played on 4th mix the other day, it was just so......awesome......
Probably because that's the mix I grew up on. Modded PS2, plus JP 4th mix. Ahhhh good memories.

Bobby, how's revenue been at the arcade? I know you were worried about it right before spring break hit. Has it improved any since then?

So when are we going to do this 4th+ no bar tournament? Tongue

Funny you should ask that... very very soon. I'm finalizing a date with Bobby now and should have details by tomorrow at the latest.

Regardless of when this ends up happening, it's definitely going to be no bar with a random 7 foot qualifier that will be decided by a laptop day of, and it will be double elim. Just so everybody has some idea what they're in for. Smiley

Don't forget the 1x FLAT mod to go with the no-bar old school theme! Honestly, playing 1x Flat would make the winner of this tournament very hard to predict. I know it wouldn't be me. =D

1x is implied since 4th + doesn't have speed mods (other than boost, maybe, which I don't find to be helpful... but maybe I should specify that anyway?)

I thought about requiring flat, but I don't know if that's appropriate or not. I want this to be fun and, well, old-school, but by the same token, flat is a BITCH. What does everyone else think?

1x, no-bar, with or without flat is awesome.

I used to play mixes pre-speed mods on sudden flat, because it kind of acted as a pseudo speed mod.  I don't do it anymore but just throwing it out there.

For the level of players we have, no bar is not going to particularly negatively affect anything, so it should be like that for fun Smiley

Indifferent about flat.  That was a 3rd mix thing is my only contribution.

Loosely related, but does Pink Gorilla buy used games and hardware? I have a Guitarfreaks ASC (plus replacement buttons and switches) with GFDM Gold/Silver I've been trying to sell somewhere.

I might buy your ASC...how much?

I'm looking for $250 for everything (ASC in original box, games, spare switch/buttons), though the price is negotiable. I'm sad to see it go (I waited months for it to come back in stock on Play-Asia) but I'm finished with the game and looking to pass it on.

Edit: Sold the ASC on bemaniso.
