I went by today and there's been a bit of a machine shuffle. The small shmup games are now in the centre, the Pop'n machine is right next to the coin machine now, there's a large-format Marvel vs Capcom 2 now, as well as a large-format Capcom vs SNK 2 that's only partially assembled as of today. Also, it could have been like this for a while, but the Guitar Freaks machine is $0.75 instead of $1.00 now. Some of the other machines have been changed out as well, but I don't remember the details.

Anyway, I love this arcade! So far I've gone every weekend since I moved here and it's a habit I plan on keeping.

So I was driving by a few days ago and took a peek in the front window... is Extreme back in place of 4th+ now? If so, I'll be sad... I wanted to run a 4th+ challenge tournament sometime in the future. Sad

The marquee has remained "extreme" while the machine has been 4th+, so it should be 4th+ unless Bobby has changed it since the tournament.

I could've swore I saw the Extreme unlock screen through the window... I don't quite remember though. :/

It's Disney's Rave right now. I played Mr. Bassman doubles and it was fun.

Hey guys, we have Drummania V3 now. Hurrah! Smiley It's $1 for 3 songs for now. Guitar Freaks is down a bit to $.75. The monitor could be better on DM, and I'm looking at swapping a nicer one in ASAP, but it is totally playable with the one it has now. I spent days rebuilding every last drum and cymbal (and the pedal), and they are in great shape as of this writing, so come check it out. Smiley

Consider Pink Gorilla my new home. Can't wait to pull off some new scores on this thing, as well as session with some cool people.

So they expanded the game selection a bit, and it looks like the 4th+ is gone for good now?

Also:
- GF V3 is $.50/3songs
- dm V3 is $1/3songs

Hi! I'm still alive. Got a new toy that might excite some people! Smiley

Best of all, since it has the nearly impossible-to-find newer motherboard, this means I can easily upgrade to Party, The Movie, and beyond. And of course I plan to, as soon as I can find the kits. Oh, and since it's a whole new cabinet, the monitor issues people occasionally complained about are gone. Come on in and check it out! More to come soon! Smiley

The adventure cab is easily the best Pop'n cab I've ever played on; the screen is awesome. Buttons are flicky and responsive... It's perfect. Now if only I were better. Haha.

Yup, it's an amazing cabinet. Let's all play a lot of Pop'n!

I'm pretty excited about this!  I might try to make it up the week after pax to play a bunch.  The hardware in it makes it great for future upgrades!  Lets hope Pop'n 19 is compatible with old cabinets though.

You can update the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Alpha 3. Both are .25 though I doubt anyone is going on this website to look up those things Tongue

After a tricky situation, the arcade is now closed. All the machines have been moved out of the store.

I honestly hope no one here even thinks about buying anything from this overpriced bullshit mismanaged store. They really didn't know they had something special in the form of an arcade operator whose dedication to his community was unparalleled.

That sucks.  Hopefully he'll be able to find a better venue.  Thats very stupid of them to do whatever they did to end this.

Bobby's FB Post about the situation:
Quote
Thanks to everyone who enjoyed the arcade! I'm sad to announce that I've ended my involvement with the PG arcade permanently. The store will live on, and I wish them the best of luck in the future. This is what's best for everyone involved, since it has become increasingly clear to me over a long time that PG and I are not the good match that I'd hoped we would be.

As much as it kills me in the short-term, it was best to end it now rather than drag things out. However, I had a great time getting to know all of you over the past year, plan to continue in some capacity, and will hopefully see you all again someday in whatever my next venue ends up being.

I have many options available to me now and need some time to figure out my next move, but I will let everyone know as soon as anything is decided. If you happen to be interested in keeping up with my future arcade endeavors, you can find my "20XX Amusements" page on Facebook and follow me the

I'd like to thank some of the MANY people who have helped me out in countless ways over the past year, and without whom none of this would have been possible. There are far too many to name, but here are some who come to mind: faithful helper and friend Laura Chick and all the BEMANI crew, shmupmeet master Paul Ostermann and all my shmupmeet friends, Tacoma's amazing op and my personal mentor Bill Masterman, extremely generous "anonymous Cave PCB guy" Jeff, arcade guru Jeff Anderson, all the ST guys at SRK, Matt Ragsdale, all the pinball friends who have supported me, encouraged me and even helped me haul dreaded video games, and Jim Romdall, without whose undying loyalty and financial backing there would be no huge row of candy cabs or many other great additions to the lineup.

I also need to give special mention to my good buddy Kevin Birrell, our biggest fan, who truly embodies the arcade spirit and who always pushed me to strive for greatness. I'm truly sorry that I let you down and hope I can make it up to you!

Most of all, I want to thank the true unsung hero of the arcade, my wonderful sweetheart Kayla, who has endured endless emotional, physical, and financial trauma -- without ever once complaining -- all to help support my little dream.

Thanks again, everyone! Onward and upward!

- Bobby
