Hey everyone I just found out that the arcade on pier 57 is closing on September 22, 2014. I wasn't sure if anyone else had heard about this yet. It seems that the arcade owner will be looking for a new location possibly still on the waterfront. Hopefully this family run business will be able to be back up and running again soon.

 Sad

From the article, the pier is kicking them out - not that the arcade is shutting down. There's a bit of hope in that they're trying to look for a new home on the waterfront.

Quote
The arcade owner had been operating under a month to month lease at Miner's Landing, and says he knew the closure would happen eventually, he just didn't think it would happen so soon.

"We thought we had a little bit more time than we do now, but we were given 30 days notice and will be closing on September 22nd," said Mike Cichy.

Cichy is already searching for a new location to open the family business.

Ultimately, he says he'd love to find a new location along the waterfront. Even with the inconvenience of the seawall construction, he says the foot traffic the waterfront brings to its businesses simply cannot be beat.

T_T CAN'T STOP CRYING BUCKETS OF TEARS T_T

I really hope that their new location is still conveniently close. For the past eight years, this was my easy-go-to spot for Pump and Rush2049.

Wow. Out of all the places on the waterfront, the Arcade and the Aquarium are two of the most prominent IMO. I can't believe they're getting rid of it. It could be due to the ferris wheel. Maybe they want to put something there that can take advantage of the people there for the wheel. You'd think the arcade would be a good thing for that need, but I guess they have other things in mind.

This is terrible, and provided the right entertainment to compliment that new Ferris Wheel.  I am beyond pissed.  And this also could not have happened to a nicer family that owns this arcade.  I hope they relocate successfully!  :-(
